The Extech Model 407732 may not be calibrating on the high range if the 'A (HI)' calibration potentiometer is not properly adjusted. Calibration requires setting the meter to high range and adjusting this potentiometer to display 94.0 dB when using a 1kHz sine wave at 94dB from an external calibrator. If this step is not done correctly or if the calibrator is inaccurate, the high range calibration will fail.
