1. Construction
The
t ool is driven by
a
r
obust,
fan- cooled AC/DC motor
m
ounted
in an extra-rigid light alloy housing. The comp act planetary
reduction gearing is robust and silent in
operation.
The well-
balanced percussion mechanism is totally enclosed in the tool-
head casing and is easily
removed.
The tool h older complies

ith international standards and h

4" (19 mm) square drive.
2. Reversing the drive
is don
e by
m ean
s
of
the
reversing
ring (1 4) m ounted on
the
motor housing. Turn reversing ring only when tool is switched
off,
otherwise
commutator and windings will be damaged.
3. Mode of operation
The
m
otor drives the
tool
holde

The direct drive
of

1,100 r.p .m
. is cut o
ut
as soon as
the
screw or
nut h
as
b een roughly run down. Once the motor reaches its rated
loa
d,
the percussion m echanism comes into operation and converts
the
drive force
of the motor - which continues to run at uniform
speed
- into
an intermittent
torque
applied at the
rate
of 1,500
r.p.m.,
i.e. tw
o
strokes fo
r
each
revolution of
the d rive spindle.

easy

As the clutch

disengage
as soon as the rated load
is attained,
the

tor cannot be

4. Application
The
full
tightening
or
slackening action
prov
ided depends on
the time
during which
the
p ercussion mechanism is allowed to
run.
Max. tigh tening

max. torque will generally represent between 80 and 150 single
torque
