battery. Please check the
symbol on the typeplate of the appliance first.
- The battery will be fully charged in approximately
12 h (NiMH version) and 10 h (NiCd version).
- A full charge provides you with an average of 60 minutes
(NiMh version) and 40 minutes (NiCd version) of use.
There is no danger if your trimmer remains connected to
the mains. But in order to guarantee the longest possible
working life of the battery do not charge for more than
24 hours.
The appliance only gets charged if you:
1. put the On/Off switch in the "Off" position (fig. 2),
2. insert the small plug firmly into the trimmer (fig. 3), and
3. insert the mains plug into the wall socket (100-240 V AC)
(fig. 4). The pilot light will come on to indicate that the
battery is being charged (fig. 5).
Directly from the mains supply
You can also use the trimmer directly from the mains
supply (fig. 6).
If the battery is completely empty the trimmer might not start
immediately. In this case switch off, charge for one minute
and switch on again.
Note:
• In order to guarantee the longest possible working life of
the battery:
- Do not charge for more than 24 hours.
- Do not keep the cord permanently plugged in.
- A weaker motor sound indicates that the rechargeable
battery will be empty soon. Only plug in the cord when
you hear this weaker sound.
- Discharge the battery completely once a year by letting
the motor run until it stops.
• If you haven't used the appliance for a long period, charge
it before use.
How to use the trimmer
Before trimming, always comb your beard and/or
moustache, using a fine comb.
• Beard trimming: with comb attachment
- Initially use the position for maximum beard length: set the
comb attachment to position 9, by turning the "zoom ring"
(fig. 7).
- For most effective cutting, move the trimmer against the
direction of beard growth (fig. 8).
- Choose the required beard length (fig. 9). There are
9 positions:

• Trimming the unique "Stubble look"
- Your appliance comes equipped with a unique comb
that has a small slot between the two rows of teeth
(see fig. 10). This enables you to cut the hairs of the
beard to a length of only 1.5 mm. The result is a very
short stubble beard. To obtain the shortest possible look,
the trimmer can be used without the comb in order to
reach a stubble length of 0.8 mm.
• Clipping single hairs, trimming and shaping of full
beards: without comb attachment
- Pull the comb from the appliance (fig. 11).
- Make well-controlled movements. Touch the hair lightly
with the trimmer (fig. 12).
