Tips on driving
f Avoid high engine speeds (max. 2500 rpm).
f Do not perform manual gear changes when
driving, and try to avoid stopping.
Moving off in water can be difficult due to the
high resistance and the loose surface involved.
f Start the water crossing at a shallow place at
walking speed.
f After checking the body of water, take the
shortest route through it.
f Never drive into water with momentum. The
resulting bow wave could damage the engine
and its accessories.
f Adjust your driving style to the unfamiliar
surroundings.
f Drive through the water slowly and at a
constant speed.

f Never turn around when crossing a body of
water.
f If it is not possible to cross the body of water,
the vehicle must be backed out of it in reverse
gear.
The servo pump and generator can fail if the
vehicle is driven through water for an extended
period.
f If the servo pump fails, substantially more
force is necessary in order to steer.
Maintenance note
The vehicle requires a special check after the
water crossing.
f Remove mud from the tyre tread.
f Briefly brake the brake pads dry after driving
through the water.
