1. Preparation of the seat pan subframe for use 1.1 Transport On receiving the product, please check it for completeness, lack of faults and check it for any transport damage. • Correct usage of the seat pan subframe requires precise and careful training of the accompanying person. • Practice using FLOYD on an even surface. You must also find out about the impacts of changing the centre of gravity and how FLOYD reacts. Try tilting and changing the centre of gravity without a passenger first of all.
2.4 Equipment for basic model • Tilt adjustment of the seat pan via gas pressure spring 300N • Depth adjustable back unit • Back and push bars, angle and height adjustable • Incl. support head as a base plate for trapezoidal and external adapter, height and seat depth adjustment •...
2.7 General settings To use the FLOYD seat pan subframe correctly, it needs to be set right. Some im- portant points are as follows: • With the seat angled more, the rear wheels should be moved back – and moved forwards with a slight tilt.
3. Settings 3.1 Seat tilt The FLOYD seat can be adjusted by 30° in the basic position using the gas pressure spring. You must press the trigger lever (A) on the right side on the push bar or push handle or assist by lightly pulling or pushing.
3.3 Back angle adjustment with quick adjustment The back can be adjusted with the fast mechanical adjustment at an angle of 90° to 120° to the seat frame. For versions with a gas pressure spring, the adjustment is made by pressing the lever on the gas pressure spring (A) and by releasing the clamp lever (B) for the mechanical version.
3.4 Seat height adjustment The height of the seat adapter can be adjusted by loosening both screws (A) on the horizontal tubes. Max. height adjustment 8 cm! The height of the gas pressure spring or the two gas pressure springs for versions with double gas pressure springs must then be adjusted.
3.7 Push handles The height of push handles can be individually adjusted on your FLOYD. This takes place after loosening the two clamp levers (A) on the rear pipes. The clamp lever must be tightened again after each adjustment.
4.2 Quick release axle The quick release axles on the rear wheels make it considerably easier to transport your FLOYD chassis. You only need to press the button (B) in the centre of the wheel hub, and the wheel can be easily removed or reinserted.
However, manoeuvrability is lost. If the rear wheels are mounted further to the front (B), the FLOYD is more manoeuv- rable due to the shorter wheel distance. However, please note that there is a big risk of tipping over in this position. This particularly applies if the seat surface is ad- justed back (see point 3.5).
5. Accessories 5.1 Tilting device The accompanying person can tilt the chassis easier with the tipping bar to drive over a curb for example. The tipping bar is mounted in the rear, lower frame tube. 5.2 Swing-away safety roller The swing-away anti tip bar prevents the chassis from tipping back.
Pay attention to a tight fit when mounting the clothing guard! 6. Adapter systems FLOYD is prepared to take a seat unit or seat pan. The seat adapter is the connec- tion point. 6.1 Seat pan adapter, standard 1. Insert the adapter into the back tube of the seat pan adapter.
6.2 Seat pan adapter, trapezoidal shape Place the seat pan with the trapezoidal shaped mounted adapter piece on the trapezoidal shaped seat pan adapter plate and push back. The patented closure automatically clicks into place. Now tighten the knurled head (A) of the patented closure.
7. Repairs and cleaning 7.1 Cleaning Please clean all frame elements regularly with a sponge or damp cloth; making sure that water droplets are removed. Please clean with a mild household detergent for severer dirt. It is important to thoroughly dry the seat pan subframe after cleaning. 7.2 Repairs Please carry out a daily visual inspection and check the seat pan subframe re- gularly for cracks, breaks, missing parts and malfunctions.
