Important Information when replacing the Spindle Motor Assembly (RXQ1028)
Please refer to this supplement regarding the use of 2 types of SPM assemblies and their differences.
· Since May 2002 production, the projection in the Traverse base of the (SPM) Spindle Motor Assembly has been modified and
the inner stopper has been deleted.
Therefore, in the course of servicing DVD changers and DVD Home Theater systems, you will encounter 2 types of SPM
assemblies.
The 2 types of SPM assemblies are described below.
1. The original Type A (with the inner stopper)
2. The revised Type B (without the inner stopper)
Refer to the pictures in section 1.1
· In addition, there are two types of Spindle Motor Assemblies (SPM) supplied as replacement parts.
They are SPM Type (1) [short projection WITH inner stopper] and Type (2) [short projection WITHOUT inner
stopper].
Refer to the pictures in section 1.2
Set Production
Early
Original or new parts may be used in early or late production set.
Late
Use original parts until exhausted, then stock new parts.
Early
Original parts may be used in early production sets only. New parts may be used in early or late
Late
production sets. Use original parts where possible, then stock new parts.

New parts only may be used in early or late production sets.
Late
Stock new parts.
