DE-SCALING
To ensure your appliance continues to make good coffee or wine or tea, you should
occasionally de-scale the mineral residue left by water using a de-scaling product
specifically formulated for coffeemakers. The frequency of this operation will depend on
the hardness of the water in your area and on how often you use your coffee maker. If you
use it once or twice a day, use the following as a guideline:
Soft water: de-scale twice a year.
Medium hard water: de-scale 4 times a year.
Very hard water: de-scale monthly.
Use a standard de-scaling agent sold for coffeemakers according to the application
instructions or use a mixture of 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water. Pour de-scaling mixture into the
reservoir, and switch on appliance. When de-scaling liquid has passed through completely,
empty carafe and pour out hot liquid. Never pour hot de-scaling solution into the water
container. Process may need to be repeated due to the hardness of your water.
Attention: After de-scaling it is necessary to operate the appliance 2-3 times with a full
container of fresh water as done before the first use. No guarantee is assumed for
damages that are due to disregard of the de-scaling instructions.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature
to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
