    There are 3phases to setting up the XRPi2: 1. Connecting to the XRPi2. There are 2 ways to do this. 2. First-time setup, in which you configure an IP address on the XRPi2 so that you can access it over a network.

    First-time Setup For a new XRPi2, you need to connect to the XRPi2, and then configure its IP addresses so that you can access it over your network. Once you can access it over the network, you can use a web browser to perform more in-depth setup using the web setup.

  • Page 20: Upgrading The Xrpi2

    Ixia supplies two utilities (scripts) that you can use to upgrade the XRPi2. Operating System Upgrade Upgrading the operating system is necessary to keep the XRPi2 updated with the latest Linux security patches. To upgrade the operating system, the probe must have access to the Internet. There is no way to upgrade the operating system without access to public servers.

    To upgrade against an Hawkeye server, type the following command: xrpi2_upgrade <online/offline><HawkeyeIP> <HawkeyeIP> : Hawkeye server IP or URL that the XRPi2 will use as the reference server for downloading the upgrade files. This is only used if the upgrade is performed offline.

    Registering with an IxChariot Server. xrpi2_info Creates a log file that contains debugging information. The log file is cre- ated in the current directory. Ixia Support may ask you to run this script. xrpi2_upgrade Performs a system upgrade and downloads latest packages for IxChariot and Hawkeye integration.

    Displays generic network statistics of the host. If you include the -an and -rn arguments, netstat displays the routing table and the application ports open on the XRPi2, as well as their respective output. With no arguments, netstat displays the active connections and the used sockets.
