The RT-9 is compatible with the MarCum PanCam system, and if you already own the PanCam you can use the RT-9 as a viewing and controlling device. To operate the PanCam on the RT-9 you would need to first download the MarCum app, (as you may have previously with your phone or another device), onto the RT-9.
The RT-9 is compatible with Navionics Mapping Software, and for best results it is recommended that you purchase one that is specific to the lakes in your area. The RT-9 comes with a base map that shows only basic land and water features.

The RT-9 is most commonly used with 2 panels open. When you first open the RT-9 App, you will see a screen that is mostly blank, but with a “1” and a “2” on the bottom. This indicates that two panels are open.
Ice Fishing Applications for the Sonar With the RT-9, it is easy to check the depth through the ice, just wet the ice and place the transducer right on the ice. You can quickly confirm that the depth is what you were looking for, and you can also see the presence of weeds and even if there are fish down there before you drill a hole.
Once you’ve located the spot, drill a hole 3 or 4 feet away from the hole you’re actually going to fish in. Set the RT-9 on the ice and lower the camera down the second hole. To assist in keeping the camera at the desired depth and direction, it is recommended that you use the Marcum Camera Panner.
