    The DISC-GO-ROBOTO is comprised of two pieces: the DISC-GO-ROBOTO machine and the DISC-GO-ROBOTO Arm. After you have unpacked them, we recommend that you retain the packaging in case your DISC-GO-ROBOTO needs to be transported. Refer to Figure 1 below to better acquaint yourself with the machine and its parts and to help you set up, operate, and troubleshoot the machine.

    Optimum Environmental Conditions Surface Preparation: Before you unpack and set up your DISC-GO-ROBOTO, please ensure you have a flat, level surface at least 24” wide by 24” deep (61 cm by 61 cm) on which to unpack, situate and operate the machine. Allow adequate space on the right-hand side of the machine for cartridge insertion and removal.

    The Disc Repair cartridge with HydraShine Technology The quality of the disc repair process is dependent on the quality of the supplies it uses (Disc Repair cartridge and polishing pads). These items have a fixed usage life and need to be replaced to ensure optimum disc repair quality. To determine when the cartridge needs to be replaced, an embedded SmartChip records the number and type of disc repairs performed and updates a percentage readout on the LCD screen, informing you when the repair supplies require changing.

    Lid Catch no pressure! Do not force the DISC-GO-ROBOTO lid down! Doing so could damage the machine! Please follow the instructions above to learn how to close the lid properly.

    Perform a Start-Up Check to ensure Center Hole in the Arm Pickup Head is centered over the Turntable Centering Knob (refer to “Start-Up Check” section, page 12). Ensure the area around the DISC-GO-ROBOTO, and especially around the Arm, is free of obstacles that might interfere with machine movement. Getting Started - To begin disc repair: 1.

    Disc Repair Modes - Light, Medium, and Heavy Figure 11: Light Damage Disc Light Damage Discs Light damage is characterized by small, hairline scratches. It can also comprise light scuffs, marks and deposits such as food or glue residue. This type of damage cannot normally be felt when running your fingernail across the scratch.

    Blu-Ray Disc Repair Mode The DISC-GO-ROBOTO can repair Blu-Ray, but it must be specifically selected as a repair mode using the CYCLE SELECT button. To get started in Blu-Ray Repair Mode: 1. Load the Input Spindle with your Blu-Ray disc(s).

    Check Bypass Spindle. Any discs that are stuck together, whether by static, label residue or other means, the DISC-GO-ROBOTO will detect and bypass during the disc repair process to avoid damage to itself or the discs. Stuck discs will be placed on the Bypass Spindle while the remainder of discs on the Input Spindle will continue to be repaired normally.

    • At the 50% level mark and at the end of each Disc Repair cartridge (once 0% is reached) and prior to installing a new repair cartridge. • If your DISC-GO-ROBOTO will not be used again for 24 hours or more. • Prior to use if several days have passed between repair cycles.

    Switching DISC-GO-ROBOTO back into Disc Repair Mode After you have finished the machine cleaning routines, the DISC-GO-ROBOTO can easily be returned to Disc Repair mode by following the steps below. Be sure to turn off your DISC-GO-ROBOTO to avoid any potential hazards before you begin.

    M A C H I n E M A I n T E n A n C E ettinG to youR ptions Your DISC-GO-ROBOTO provides a user interface to several software based tools that access system, diagnostic and troubleshooting information as well as calibration and alignment capabilities. These tools are accessed through the OPTIONS MENU, accessible only when the machine is idle (i.e.

    You can cycle through the choices using the CYCLE SELECT button. 1. Machine Diagnostics This Sub-Menu places your DISC-GO-ROBOTO in diagnostic mode that may be used to activate and observe the functionality of various components within the machine. Press the START button to enter the Machine Diagnostics Mode. Cycle through each of the Sub-Menu options by pressing the CYCLE SELECT button, then activate your choice by pressing the START button.

    2. Machine Configuration 2.1. Machine Mode Settings – This Sub-Menu allows you to set the DISC-GO-ROBOTO to operate in automated (ROBOTO), demonstration (DEMO), or manual (SOLO) mode. 2.1.1.   • Page 35 Solution: If the Input Spindle is NOT empty: a. Turn your DISC-GO-ROBOTO off and check that the Input Spindle is cen- tered on its positioning guide, that the disc(s) do not have any warping or crack- ing damage, and that the discs are not stuck together.

  • Page 37 If the flow of polish onto the disc is impeded, the polishing pads generate excess friction and heat and will damage the surface of the disc. To prevent this from occurring, a “Check Pads” error is generated and the DISC-GO-ROBOTO will stop. a. Check that the Repair Cartridge contains polishing fluid and is installed correctly (the rear of the cartridge should align with the edge of the Cartridge Compartment and the Cartridge Latch should be fully engaged).

  • Page 39 Reconnect the Arm. If the message persists, refer to the “Machine Mode Settings” (Page 27) to change the operating mode to “DISC-GO-ROBOTO”. d. Resume repairing discs. Situation: The DISC-GO-ROBOTO does not process and repair discs as well as it did when it was first received. Solution: The quality of the repair process is highly dependent on the quality of the polishing materials used.
  • Page 40 Solution: a. Verify the Repair Cartridge is new. b. Turn your DISC-GO-ROBOTO off. Re-insert the cartridge fully, ensuring that the back surface of the cartridge is flush with the body of the Cartridge compartment and that the Cartridge Latch is engaged.
