Scoop doesn’t go to the end of the box to keep box clean. This is our 3rd box and the first 2 worked perfect until the motor wore out.

The Pet Zone SMART SCOOP may not reach the end of the box due to motor issues or litter buildup. Users report that the rake sometimes malfunctions by getting stuck or stopping mid-cycle. This can be caused by debris or clumping litter on the platform, interfering with the motor's movement. Also, the motor may lack strength or fail to return to position without manual power cycling.

We have a smart scoop litter box. It has stopped going back to the start after scooping. It stops just afer it starts to go back. I have taken it apart and put it back together, it will work with no litter, but continues to stop. Help.

The Pet Zone Smart Scoop litter box may stop moving back to the start after scooping due to waste getting stuck behind the rake, the waste unit being full, or litter falling into the latch area preventing proper operation. To fix this, remove any obstructions, empty the waste unit, or vacuum litter from the latch area.

Give your cat some time to explore the new box, but keep the old litter box nearby so there is a familiar back-up. It may help to add a scoop or two of litter from the old box so there is a familiar scent in Smart Scoop. www.petzonebrand.com...
  • Page 11: A Word About Litter

Smart Scoop is relatively quiet when operating, but it will help to leave the unit unplugged for a few days so your cat begins using it just like an ordinary litter box. Once your cat has become comfortable with Smart Scoop, do not clean the old litter box because cats will choose a clean box over a dirty one.
  • Page 12: Care And Cleaning

If the unit is off all night, extremely large clumps can develop which could keep the unit from operating properly. Cats are most active at night so Smart Scoop needs to remain powered on to take care of their nighttime trips to the litter box.

We have included a Smart Scoop litter rake comb that can be used to remove any small litter clumps that may adhere to the rake. Simply scrape the tines of the rake with the comb.
