    GTV42P Safety Instructions WARNING! Ensure that you read all of the safety instructions before using your Television. Power Source This television requires a 230V AC, 50Hz mains supply. Do not use any other power source. Safety Considerations • The television weighs approximately 46.5kg and requires two people to remove it from the packaging and position it for viewing.

    42” Plasma Screen Television Electrical Information Make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate. This television may be fitted with a non-rewireable plug. If you need to change the fuse in a non-rewireable plug, the fuse cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a replacement is obtained.

    42” Plasma Screen Television Assembly Mounting the television on the stand 1. Remove and identify the parts for the stand (see the illustrations below and the following pages). 2. Place the stand on a flat surface and fix the two brackets using the four hexagonal head countersunk bolts as shown below.

    GTV42P Connecting external equipment For initial tuning described on pages 17 to 19, connect your external antenna directly to the television. Once the tuning process is complete connect your other AV devices. The illustration below is a suggested method of connecting a video cassette recorder (VCR), DVD and PC (mains supply cable not shown).

    42” Plasma Screen Television Connect the antenna to the RF in on the VCR and the RF out from the VCR to the television ANTENNA socket. This means that you will be able to record a programme while watching a different programme. Connect the VCR Scart to SCART 1 on the television.

You can abort the search at any time by pressing the red button on the remote control. When a program is found it is allocated to the first available program number and the search continues.

    42” Plasma Screen Television Using Teletext Teletext is an information system that displays text on your TV screen. Using the teletext control buttons you can view pages of information that are listed in the teletext index. The on screen displays are not available in text mode, however, the volume control is still available.

    42” Plasma Screen Television Television setup The television set up is accessed through the menu system. The menu attributes are all adjusted in a similar way: 1. Use the P and P buttons to highlight a picture attribute. 2. Press VOL+ to select the attribute, which will change to green coloured text.

    42” Plasma Screen Television Zoom settings in PC mode The zoom settings available when pressing the button in the PC mode are slightly different to those described previously for TV and video signals. The settings are: Full Screen - this will expand the display to fill the screen. User Zoom - this is set up menu setting of between 40% and 140%, see page 31.

    42” Plasma Screen Television Reaction on PC syncs In the PC mode the television checks for the presence of the horizontal and vertical sync signals. If they are not present for approximately ten minutes, the television automatically switches to standby. So when your PC is shutdown the television will automatically switch to standby.
