    Thank you for purchasing the Blaze ET OCR multi-player. The Blaze ET is a digital audio player and portable OCR device manufactured by HIMS International Corporation. It is a small, lightweight portable device which can play digital books, music files, document files, DAISY content, FM radio, and can scan and recognize printed text and text image files with the built-in 5 megapixel camera and OCR software.

    Blaze ET – User Manual HIMS International 1.4 Physical Orientation to the Blaze ET. The Blaze ET is a small, rectangular unit, similar in size and shape to a smart phone. It weighs just 118g, is 59.3mm wide, 116.86mm long and 16.44mm thick.

    Blaze ET – User Manual HIMS International 1.4.1 The Top Face. The top face of the unit contains the main keypad. At the top center is a slightly recessed square depression. This is the Power On-Off button. To the left and right of the Power button are the stereo speakers.

The back face or underside of the unit contains 2 things. In the top center, directly opposite the Power button on the front face, is the OCR camera.

File Manager The Blaze ET'S File Manager allows you to explore the content of your internal flashdisk as well as any SD card or USB drive connected to Blaze ET. Pressing OK on a supported file type or a folder of supported DAISY or Media files automatically launches the program in which that file or folder is playable, and the content begins playing.

You can record via the internal microphone, an external stereo microphone or line-in source, from a headset microphone, or from the FM radio.

"OCR" refers to Optical Character Recognition, which simply means the recognition of letters in an image, and the conversion of these letters to text. The Blaze ET accomplishes this by snapping a photo of a page of text with its built-in 5 mega-pixel camera, and processing it through its included OCR software.
