SAFETY INFORMATION Grounding (Fig. B) In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides the path of least resistance for electric current, and reduces the risk of electric shock. This battery charger is double insulated and has a 2-prong polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Battery Pack (Fig.E) IMPORTANT! The battery pack is not charged when it is purchased. Before using the sweeper for the first time, place the battery pack in the battery charger and charge for 24 hours. Make sure to read all safety precautions, and follow the instructions in the Battery Charger section.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS Two Speed Switch (Fig. G) The sweeper has a two speed switch. To operate the sweeper: 1. Grab the handle (1) and pull the switch to the desired speed indicated on the power switch as High and Low (2). 2.
THE BATTERY CHARGER Charging Procedure (Fig. I) Charge the batteries before using for the first time.With regular use the battery pack will need one hour orless to charge. Occasionally, and after prolonged storagetime, charge the batteries again. Nickel-cadmium batteriescan develop a memory for usage and storage times.
MAINTENANCE WARNING To avoid personal injury and risk of fire and electric shock, always remove the battery pack before adjusting, inspecting, or cleaning. Cleaning Remove the battery pack. 1. Brush or sweep dust and debris out of the air vents using compressed air or a vacuum. Keep them free of obstructions, sawdust and wood chips.

WARNING All toxic materials must be disposed of in a specified manner to prevent contamination of the environment. Before disposing of damaged or worn out nickel-cadmium battery packs, contact your local waste disposal agency, or the local Environmental ProtectionAgency for information and specific instructions.Take the batteries to a local recycling and/or disposalcenter, certified for cadmium disposal.
LIMITED TWO-YEAR WARRANTY The manufacturer warranties to the original purchaser that each new product and service part is free from defects in material and workmanship and agrees to repair or replace under this warranty any defective product or part as follows from the original date of purchase.
