PREPARING FOR FLIGHT • Before charging, be sure to turn off the Atom using the ON/OFF switch located above the charging port on the back of the Atom. If left on, the Atom won’t charge. • Don’t use USB hubs, USB 1.0 or USB 1.1 ports; these may not have enough current to properly charge the Atom.
  • Page 5 PREPARING FOR FLIGHT Stable, level surface If it’s placed at an angle, the Atom’s auto-stabilization system function can be disrupted. After the controller and Atom have linked up successfully, the status lights on the Atom stop blinking and turn solid. The Atom is now ready for takeoff!

USING YOUR CONTROLLER Your controller comes in two modes - mode 1 and 2. Each time you turn on the controller, it is, by default, operating in mode 1. You can quickly configure the controller to operate in mode 2 before turning it on. Simply press and hold the Mode Switch button and then power on the controller as shown on the right.

But if it drifts continually without any input from the control sticks, you have to adjust the trim positions to compensate for the drifting. The trim ‘fine-tunes’ the speed of the motors. Just press the appropriate trim button opposite to the movement repeatedly until the Atom is flying as straight as possible.

Now there’s a quick way to bring it back closer to your position! In Instinctive mode, your Atom flies in the direction you move the right stick of the controller relative to its defined reference heading, regardless of the way Atom is oriented.
  • Page 9 ATOM FEATURES High / Low Speed mode Give your Atom that extra speed boost. Want to perform thrilling stunts in high speed? The High/Low Speed button on the controller allows you to toggle between high and low speed modes. Press once (the controller beeps twice) to fly the Atom in high speed mode.

FLYING GUIDE • Check that the propellers are firmly secured in their slots before each takeoff. • Small adjustments made slowly and carefully are the best way to fly well. Be careful when easing off the throttle – if the Atom stalls, it will fall to the ground and even if you jam the throttle back on, it might not be able to recover in time.

TROUBLESHOOTING Problem: The Atom is not responding to stick movements. The Atom status lights are blinking. Answer: Recharge the Atom. Problem: Rotors are spinning, but the Atom cannot lift off the ground. Answer: Check the rotor blades for damage.
