Wi-Fi Settings

Use Wi-Fi settings to control your tablet's connections to Wi-Fi networks, and for using Wi-Fi Direct to
connect directly to other Wi-Fi Direct devices.

1. From home, tap
2. Tap On/Off to turn Wi-Fi on. Wi-Fi must be on to configure settings.
3. Swipe to the bottom of the right side of the screen and tap Add Wi-Fi network to connect to a
new Wi-Fi network. For more information about using Wi-Fi, see Wi-Fi.
4. Tap More options for these options:
Scan: Search for available Wi-Fi networks.

Wi-Fi Direct: Connect to other Wi-Fi Direct devices. For more information, see

Advanced:

• Network notification: Send a notification when an open Wi-Fi network is available.
• Hotspot 2.0: Automatically connect to Wi-Fi access points that support Hotspot 2.0.
• Sort by: Choose a sorting order for Wi-Fi networks on the Wi-Fi screen.
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep: Specify when to switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data for data
•
communications, when the tablet goes to sleep (when the backlight goes out). This
setting can affect data usage, since the data connection will remain active even when the
tablet screen is off.
• Smart network switch: Automatically switch between Wi-Fi networks and mobile
networks to maintain a stable Internet connection.
• Install network certificates: Install certificates stored on an optional memory card (not
included).
Wi-Fi timer: Automatically connect or disconnect from a Wi-Fi network, using the Starting
•
time and Ending times you set.
MAC address: View your tablet's MAC address, needed for connecting to some secured
•
networks (not configurable).
IP address: View your tablet's IP address (not configurable).
•
WPS push button: Set up a connection to a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) router or other

equipment.
WPS PIN entry: View the PIN used by your tablet to set up a PIN-secured connection to a

Wi-Fi router or other equipment. (Not configurable.)
