VK17 and VKA17 rock drills are designed for the drilling of low to high strength materials (e.g. concrete, granite, sandstone, masonry bituminous asphalt etc). Permon is not responsible for customer modifications of tools for applications on which Permon was not consulted. -

• Do not carry the tool by the hose. • Keep body stance balanced and firm. Do not overreach when operating this tool. • Operate at 7.0 bar / 700 kPa maximum air pressure) • When wearing gloves and operating models with inside trigger, always be sure that the gloves will not prevent the trigger from being released. -

15,8 15,8 Guarranteed Noise Level DISASSEMBLING THE VK 17 AND VKA 17 ROCK DRILL GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS • Clean the outer surface of the rock drill. • Do not disassemble the rock drill any further than is necessary to replace or repair damaged or worn parts. - Page 5 !!!!! There is considerable energy stored in the spring take care to wear eye protection and gloves. Guard against sudden energy release during spring removal. DISASSEMBLY OF DRILLING COMPONENTS: Leave the side rod bolts (43) in position through the assembly at this stage. Remove drill bushing (4) slide from location, note that the chuck may lie contained within the cylinder cover (3).
- Page 6 Grip the handle body (44) in leather or copper protected vice jaws. Remove nut (49) and washer (48) from handle screw end. Press or drift out handle screw (47) using a suitably sized drift. Spacer pipes (45) will be retained inside the handle grips (46). If it is necessary to replace handgrip (46) it may prove easier to cut off the old grips with a sharp knife.
- Page 7 ASSEMBLY OF THE VK 17 AND VKA 17 ROCK DRILL GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS • Before assembly of the rock drill, clean all parts thoroughly dry off and inspect carefully for signs of wear. • Lubricate all moving parts with recommended oil (see Lubrication).
- Page 8 NOTE: only one pawl is engaged with the ratchet plate at any time. Thread distribution cover (16) over screw driving lug (20) until it butts up to ratchet (17). Slide distribution body (15) into position and locate on distribution cover (16). Replace distribution ring (14) and distribution cover (13).
