01 - GENERALITIES CHARACTERISTICS AND APPLICATION The Hemming Machine 99 can hem different types of fabric without having to alter the machine settings. Hourly output is roughly 2100 items, which are them stacked tidily, ready for the next operation. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE The Hemming Machine 99 should be used for hemming fabrics only.
03 - LIFTING AND TRANSPORTATION kg … The machine can be transported with or without a packing case. In both cases, check that the forks of the fork-lift truck bear the full weight of the machine. To move using a fork-lift truck, place the forks under the machine with the front of the machine facing the fork-lift truck. Place in the lorry or van and secure with ropes or belts.
05 - INSTALLATION ATTENTION: This machine must only be installed by specialized personnel. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage to persons or to property arising from incorrect installation not in accordance with these instructions and connection to a mains supply that does not meet the necessary requirements.

OPERATION SEQUENCE Below is a description of the sequence of operations carried out by the "Orlatrice 99" Hemming Machine 99: It is essential that the operator reads this description carefully, understanding each point, as the trouble-shooting guide is based on full knowledge of this sequence.

ADJUSTING THE HEMMED EDGES N.B. Before making this adjustment, switch the machine off and cut the compressed air supply. To get even hems, check that the items to be hemmed remain parallel to stop square “B” (fig. 2) as they are drawn into the machine. If they look like that shown in fig.
ADJUSTING THE CONVEYOR BELT SPEED If the pockets on the delivery conveyor belt do not lie flat, but turn upwards, you need to reduce the machine point slightly or increase the number of stepping motor impulses (see specific paragraph below). Likewise, if the pockets are too taut, causing uneven internal hems, adjust in the opposite fashion.
09 - MAINTENANCE Always disconnect the machine from the mains supply, the compressed air supply and wait for the ironing parts to cool down before undertaking any adjustment, replacement or maintenance work. REPLACING THE CONVEYOR BELTS - Detach the connector on the LH side of the sewing machine. - Unscrew the 4 fixing screws “C” (fig. 3) so that you remove the conveyor unit completely. To replace belts “D” and “E”: - Remove the Plexiglas protection covers. - Remove the 2 rear screws “F”.
10 - TROUBLESHOOTING If the pocket hem is creased: - Check that the claw is clean (see page 16). - Check the sewing machine infeed system: check that the sewing machine draws the fabric in smoothly, without raising the foot. - Check that the shoe of the sewing machine foot is not broken.
