start

Troubleshooting

Cause
Engine switch has been switched
off.
Fuel cock closed.
Choke opened.
Lack of fuel
Wrong or old fuel.
Spark plug soiled, distance be-
tween electrodes incorrect.
Spark plug is defective.
Spark plug wet.
Air filter is dirty.
Lack of fuel
Wrong or old fuel.
Spark plug is not properly tight-
ened.
Remedy
Switch on engine switch.
Open fuel cock.
Close the choke unless the engine
is warm.
Refill tank.
Drain the fuel tank and the carbu-
rettor.
Fill appropriate, fresh fuel in the
tank.
Clean the spark plug.
Check spark plug for damage and
distance between the electrodes.
Replace the spark plug.
Dry spark plug and screw it back
in.
Check the air filter, clean if re-
quired.
Refill tank.
Drain the fuel tank and the carbu-
rettor.
Fill appropriate, fresh fuel in the
tank.
Tighten the spark plug.
