  • Page 6 When powering the digital video recorder ON for the first time the digital video recorder will take you through the initial setup. Powering the Digital video recorder ON Batteries Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital video recorder, according to the polarity shown inside the battery compartment.

    Main Camera Modes Your camera has different modes for the various camera functions. You can switch modes by turning the MODE Dial on your camera after the camera has been powered ON. Video Capture Mode Use this mode to capture videos with your digital video recorder. Turn the MODE Dial to the icon to open the Video Capture Mode.

    Powering Your Digital Video Recorder ON/OFF Make sure the batteries and SD Memory card have been inserted properly into your digital video recorder. To power on the camera you need to flip open the LCD Screen. The Power button is situated on the inside of the camera. Powering the camera ON Press the Power button to turn your camera ON.

    Changing Camera Modes Your camera has four main modes: Video Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture videos with your camera. To select Video Capture Mode, turn the Mode Dial to the Video Capture Setting: Photo Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture photos with your camera. To select Photo Capture Mode turn the Mode Dial to the Photo Capture Setting: Playback Mode (for photos and videos) - Use this mode to view the photos and videos you have already taken with your camera.

    Navigating the Menus Each camera mode has a set of menus specific to that mode. Press the MENU button to open the menus for the current mode. Press the UP or DOWN on the control joystick to scroll between and highlight the various menus for the current mode.

    Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mode allows you to capture videos with your digital video recorder. To select Video Capture Mode, turn the Mode Dial to the Video Capture Mode Icon: Taking a Video While in Video Capture Mode use the LCD display to direct the camera at the scene you would like to capture.

  • Page 16 Night Vision: LED Flash and IR Light Your digital video recorder includes the LED and Night Vision feature. These features increase the lighting in dark situations. LED Flash Press the OK/LED button to activate the LED Flash Light on the front of the camera below the lens.
  • Page 17 Video Capture Mode Menus To access the Menus for the Video Capture Mode, press the MENU button while you are in Video Capture Mode. The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟s Video Capture Mode: Resolution, Frame Rate, AntiShake, White Balance, Exposure, Scene Resolution Menu The Resolution Menu allows you to choose the desired size of the images taken by your camera.
  • Page 18 Frame Rate Menu The frame rate is the number of frames or images that are displayed per second during video playback. The higher the number of frames playing per second, the smoother the video playback appears. Keep in mind that videos taken with a higher frame rate will also take up more of your camera‟s memory.
  • Page 19 Alternatively, select „Exit‟ or press the MENU button to exit the Anti Shake Menu and return to the Video Menu screen. Press the MENU button to exit the Video Menu screen and return to the Video Capture mode. Note: After saving your selection and exiting the Menu screen, the corresponding icon will appear on the LCD screen.
  • Page 20 Exposure Menu The Exposure setting helps you control the amount of light that enters your camera‟s lens. This setting should be adjusted when the environment is lighter or darker than normal. When the environment has more light than is needed, reduce the exposure setting (by using the negative - count) to reduce the amount of light allowed into the lens by your camera.

Alternatively, select „Exit‟ or press the MENU button to exit the Scene Menu and return to the Video Menu screen.     Video Playback Mode The Video Playback Mode allows you to review and edit videos and photos that you‟ve already taken with you camera. To access Video Playback Mode, press the Playback button , above the Mode Dial. To exit Video Playback Mode and return to your previous screen, press the Playback button again.

    Setup Mode The Setup mode allows you to change your general camera settings. To select Setup Mode, turn the Mode Dial to the „SET‟ icon. The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟s Setup Mode: Buzzer, Power Frequency, Auto Power Off, Date & Time, Language, TV Out, Format, Default Set Buzzer Menu When you press any button, a beep or buzzer sound is emitted.
