    Safety Instructions 2 Ex-Specifications The INNOVATION 1.0 is a smartphone suitable for use in po- tentially explosive atmospheres (zones 1, 21, 2 and 22) in accordance with directives 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) and 99/92/EC (ATEX 137), as well as the IECEx scheme.

    Safety Instructions 3 Faults and Damages If there is any reason to suspect that the safety of the phone has been compromised, it must be withdrawn from use and removed from any ex-hazardous areas immediately. Measures must be taken to prevent any accidental restarting of the phone.

    Safety Instructions 4 Ex-relevant Safety Regulations Use of this phone assumes that the operator observes the conventional safety regulations and has read and understood manual, safety instructions and certificate. The following safety regulations must also be complied with:  Inside ex-hazardous areas the phone must be closed. Bat- tery have to be fixed by the two screws and the cover of the USB interface have to be closed.

To ensure the IP protection of the phone please make sure that the seals of the battery, the USB port cover and all the screw covers are in place correctly.

    Quick Start 7 First Steps 7.1 Battery The battery is inserted into the back of the smartphone. The battery is not fully charged when the smartphone is pur- chased, but it contains enough energy to power on the phone. To obtain best battery performance and battery life, let the battery discharge completely before charging it com- pletely for the first three charging cycles.

    Quick Start 7.1.2 Charging the Battery Connect the i.safe PROTECTOR USB-cable with the phone as indicated in the picture below: Connect the plug with the socket of the Power Supply. After charging, remove USB-cable from the charger. 7.1.3 Battery Use In actual use, the standby time and talk time of the smartphone varies with the network status, working envi- ronment and usage.

    Quick Start Warning: The phone may only be charged at ambient temperatures in a range from 0°C..45°C. Please do not use charging equipment if the temperature exceeds this range. Only use the i.safe PROTECTOR USB-cable to connect to a charger. Using any other cable may cause danger and will void the warranty.

    Open the Micro-SD card holder, and insert the Micro-SD card into the slot, then close the Micro-SD card holder. 8 i.safe PROTECTOR The INNOVATION 1.0 contains specially designed safety cir- cuits. Connecting the phone to non-ex-approved equipment like a computer can endanger the safety of the phone, as faults in the non-approved equipment could lead to a power surge into the phone large enough to destroy the safety circuits.

    Schnellstart 7 Erste Schritte 7.1 Batterie Die Batterie wird an der Rückseite des Gerätes mit zwei Schrauben montiert. Bei Anlieferung ist die Batterie nicht vollständig aufgeladen. Das Smartphone lässt sich aber den- noch vollständig aktivieren. Zur Erreichung der besten Per- formance der Batterie wäre es angebracht, die Batterie die ersten dreimal vollständig zu entladen und anschließend wie- der 100% aufzuladen.

    Schnellstart 7.1.2 Laden der Batterie Kontaktieren Sie das im Lieferumfang enthaltene i.safe PROTECTOR USB-Kabel mit dem Telefon wie im Bild darge- stellt. Kontaktieren Sie anschließend das Kabel mit dem Netzteil. Nach dem Ladevorgang trennen Sie bitte das USB Kabel vom Netzteil.
