  • Page 9 COMPONANT IDENTIFICATION (CONT…) SMART THROTTLE The RPM of the generator is automatically adjusted to save fuel when there is little to no load on the generator. This feature can be turned on an off using the switch on the control panel.
  • Page 10 CHECKS BEFORE OPERATING 1. Check that the generator is on a level surface. 2. Check the oil level of the generator. 3. Check the fuel level of the generator. 4.1 CHECK THE OIL LEVEL Only use the recommended lubricants in the generator. Using inferior lubricants or 2-stroke lubricant will significantly reduce the life span of the generator and void the warranty.
  • Page 11 CHECKS BEFORE OPERATING (CONT…) Only use vehicle grade petrol (gasoline) in this generator. Do not use leaded or lead replacement fuel (LRP). DO NOT add oil to the fuel. The generator is a four stroke system that does not require any additional lubricant to be added other than that described in the pages prior to this.
  • Page 12 CHECKS BEFORE OPERATING (CONT…) Use of higher concentrated ethanol or methanol than mentioned above can lead to performance problems and will not be covered under the warranty agreement. DO NOT use petrol (gasoline) with a higher concentration than 10% ethanol or 5% methanol. This will cause damage to the internal components.

USING THE GENERATOR To prevent electric shock when operated incorrectly you should earth the generator. There is an earthing point on the front of the generator between the AC sockets. Connection to any existing electrical infrastructure should always performed qualified electrician.
  • Page 17 USING THE GENERATOR (CONT…) USING THE AC SOCKETS 1. Start the generator and check that the green indicator light is on 2. Make sure that the appliances to be connected to the generator are in the off position. Connect the male AC plug into the plug socket on the generator.
  • Page 18 USING THE GENERATOR (CONT…) During start-up it is common for both the green indicator light and the red overload light to be illuminated. After some time the red light should go off. If it does not, this indicates that there is a problem.
  • Page 19: Using The Generator

USING THE GENERATOR (CONT…) Overloading of the DC socket will result in the breaker tripping. If this happens, wait a few minutes and press the breaker back to the on position. CIRCUIT BREAKER LOW OIL ALARM The generator has a low oil alarm which is designed to protect the generator from being damaged when operated without enough oil.
  • Page 20 TURNING OFF THE GENERATOR EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN In the case of an EMERGENCY shutdown turn the generator ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. This will immediately disable the generator. Do not use this shutdown procedure for regular operation as it may damage your appliances.

  • Page 22: Maintenance

MAINTENANCE It is imperative to follow a rigorous maintenance plan in order to ensure the longevity of your generator. Failure to do regular maintenance will result in poor performance of the generator. Always turn the generator OFF to perform any maintenance.
  • Page 23 MAINTENANCE (CONT…) CHANGING THE OIL Discharge the oil from the generator when the engine is still warm. This will allow the oil to flow freely and quickly. Be careful to not come into contact with the hot liquid and drain it into an appropriate container to be disposed of correctly.
