    Close the cover of the SIM card slot. Charge the battery Before using the device for the first time, you must charge the battery. Use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables. Unauthorised chargers or cables can cause batteries to explode or damage your device.
  • Page 6 If the battery is completely discharged, you cannot turn on the device, even with the USB power adapter connected. Allow a depleted battery to charge for a few minutes before you try to turn on the device. Connect the USB cable to the USB power adapter and then plug the end of the USB cable into the multifunction jack.

    Lock or unlock the touch screen When you do not use the device for a specified period, your device turns off the touch screen and automatically locks the touch screen to prevent any unwanted device operations.     Android keyboard The Android keypad provides the QWERTY keypad. Samsung keypad The Samsung keypad provides the QWERTY keypad and a handwriting mode. When entering text with the QWERTY keypad, use the predictive text feature. This feature will predict the word you are entering and display suggestions.

    Make or answer a call You can make a call by entering a phone number or selecting a number in your contact list. You can also access the call log to redial recently dialled numbers. Make a call Open the dialling screen, enter a phone number, and select Call.
