Select the DVD drive and, while the disc tray is open, press and hold
PLAY on the unit for at least 5 seconds.

The video cassette is write-protected.

Check whether the inserted disc is suitable for recording.

The disc is not formatted. Format the disc.

The write-protection device on the cartridge is set to "PROTECT".
Deactivate the write-protection.

Deactivate the write-protection in the DVD Management menu.

The material that you want to record is copy-protected. The number of possible
copies is limited with some programmes.

Discs containing PAL and NTSC signals cannot be recorded.
î If there is a power cut during recording or processing, or if the unit is unplugged

other. Correct the programming.
