Using the Remote
Shutter
If you use the remote shutter (DMW-RSL1;
optional), you can avoid jitter (camera
shake) when using a tripod. The remote
shutter works similar to the shutter button
on the camera.
1 Connect the remote shutter to
the [REMOTE] socket on the
camera firmly.
2 Take a picture.
1:Press the button lightly to press
halfway.

∫ About [LOCK] on the remote shutter
• You can keep the shutter button
pressed fully. This is effective when
taking pictures in burst mode. (P54)
• While pressing the shutter button fully,
slide it to the [LOCK] side.
• Slide it to the other side to cancel
[LOCK].
• Cancel [LOCK] on the remote shutter
before connecting it to the camera.
• The camera cannot be operated while the
shutter button on the remote shutter is
held down or while the shutter button is at
the [LOCK] position.
• Bulb exposure (the shutter remains open
while the shutter button is pressed) is not
available with this camera.
• You cannot operate the camera with the
shutter remote control in the following cases:
– When the power save mode is cancelled
– When you determine the part to be
trimmed (P108)
– When you determine the aspect ratio
conversion (P109)
