T8. ATTENTION:
If the appliance connected to the AV 100 MINI has only one Scart socket, use it to connect to the AV 100 MINI
transmitter. The device can be connected to the main television with an HDMI cable (not included).
Then install the receiver.
Installing the AV 100 MINI receiver: second television
R1. Check that the receiver has the double channel selector set to the same combination as the transmitter
(Fig. 5).
R2. Position the receiver close to the second television with the green LED pointing at the position from which
the television can be seen.
R3. To connect the receiver use the jack video/SCART cable with the "For Receiver" label (Fig. B). Plug the
jack AV socket on the back of the receiver (Fig. 3); plug the SCART connector of the same cable to the
SCART socket of the second television.
R4. Plug the power adaptor connector to the socket on the back of the receiver (DC 9V).
R5. Plug the power adaptor to an easily accessible wall socket.
R6. Switch on the receiver, (ON/OFF switch - Fig. 3) and make sure that the front power warning light comes
on (green LED).
R7. Switch on the second television and turn it to AV or EXT mode with the remote control.
R8. Open the aerial of the receiver and point it towards the transmitter (Fig. 6). Do this carefully to ensure you
do not damage the aerial. The two faces of the receiving/transmitting aerials with the aerial drawing must
face each other for optimal reception.
At this point you should be able to see on the second television the signal transmitted from the appliance close
to the main television that you switched on previously. If no signal appears on the second television or if the
signal is disturbed, try changing the position and/or direction of the aerials until you achieve the best signal
quality.
Now install the remote control repeater described in the next section.
The remote control repeater is used to control the appliance connected to the AV 100 MINI transmitter, with the
original remote control or with a universal Meliconi remote control, directly from the room where the second
television is located.
This means that you can, for example, change the SKY channel from the second television without having to go
into the other room where the decoder is located.
The AV 100 MINI receiver (IR sensor - Fig. 2) picks up the signal from the remote controls and sends it to the
transmitter. The remote control repeater, connected to the transmitter, transmits the signal to the appliance
connected to the AV 100 MINI transmitter. (Fig. A, IR)
To do this proceed as follows:
- Connect the cable from the infrared repeater to the jack socket (IR) on the back of the transmitter (Fig. 4).
- Position the infrared repeater at the other end of the IR cable in front of the audio/video appliance that you
want to control close to its infrared sensor (Fig. A).
- Check that you can control the appliance from the room where the second television is located, by pointing
the remote control towards the AV 100 MINI receiver (green LED in the dark screen on the front).
- If the appliance does not respond try moving the infrared repeater to another position and try again. Once
you have found the right position, secure the repeater with the adhesive on the back.
NOTE: the infrared repeater does not need to be located directly on the appliance, but at a distance of 5-7
centimetres, which will make it easier to fi nd the right position.
You can check the transmission of the infrared commands by looking at the impulses of the red LEDs on the
receiver and the transmitter. (Fig.2)
