Holztech SD320 3.0 SAFETY DEVICES These machine safety devices are in accordance with the safety regulations of all EU countries. • Knives protection Covers for the knives shaft, delivered upon request. Grooves guide 45' swiveling for precise feed of the workpieces Rebound tips. -

Spare parts list 5.0 APPLICATION The combined planer-thicknesser Holztech SD320 machine is suitable for machining straight edge pieces of wood or similar to wood raw materials. Wooden pieces with sections different from straight edge that are prone to rebound should not be machined. - Page 7 Holztech SD320 6.1 Cleaning All blank parts that are protected against rust clean with petrol or similar commercial cleaning agent. Attention! Do not use any kind of nitro or similar solving agent, by no means use water. 6.2 Fixing The machine must be placed vertically on adequate ground. By rotating the installation bolts the machine can be fixed in correct vertical position.

Holztech SD320 Maximum slze is 1800 x 320 mm. For longer workpieces machining some sort of table extension is to be applied. Minitnal size is 450 x 50 x 30 mm. Smaller works to be machined using adequate auxiliaries. Thicknessing Maximum size is 1800 x 405 x 230 nun. - Page 9 Holztech SD320 Do not push the workpiece with finger tips or hands. For small workpieces apply auxiliaries Check up for defects (nails, knots, etc.) When surface of job is uneven, begin with the side from which less material is removed.
- Page 10 Holztech SD320 For small jobs always use auxiliary supports. Attention! The hands must never be placed on the knives shaft. The hand must always be behind the knives shafts and the right hand must push the workpiece till shortly before the shaft and then be withdrawn. The workpiece must always be fed from above.

Holztech SD320 For jobs longer then 1800mm, use table extensions. Observe jobs sizes as per art. 7.0 of this manual. 9.0 PLANER KNIVES HEAD 9.1. Removal of knives Before dismantling the knives be sure to disconneet and switch off the electric supply. - Page 13 Holztech SD320 9.2. Inserting and setting knives Clean the following parts: chutes of the knives shaft N tapered tips (4) springs (2) connecting bolts (5) Insert the tapered tips and the planer knives into the chute of the knives shaft and press them using wooden stick against the springs, after that slightly withdraw the connecting bolts (some 0.2 nun above the top surface of working table B).

Holztech SD320 Attention! - The knives may have maximum 1.0 mm height above the working table. - The knives must be changed one by one. - Do not use knives shorter than30 mm. - Use only one-side sharpened knives otherwise rebound may occur. -

Holztech SD320 At least once a month check chains tapered belts and when necessary reclamp. Motor - planmg shafts (belts) Planing shaft - feed drive (chains) 10.3 Checking motor brake The machine is equipped with electronic motor brake. The maximum time after switching-off the planing shaft should not exceed 10 seconds. -

Holztech SD320 Functions of under voltage triggers At voltage drop in the factory the main switch goes off and the machine has to be switched on again. Electronic motor brake Maximum run time of the motor is 1 0 seconds after switching-off the motor. In case this time gets longer an electdeian has to be consulted. -
