It takes me a half hour and multiple tools to get the spool apart from the weedeater. There has to be a better way. Good idea? Instructions say pinch but hands alone don't do it

To separate the spool from the EarthWise ST00009 weedeater, firmly push the tabs on both sides of the hub to release it, then remove the hub along with the spool from the cutting head.
