Although the axle is shipped with lubricant from the factory, check the level before operating the machine.

    Controls Service Brakes (Fig. 8 )—The left and right brake pedals are connected to the left and right front wheels. Since both brakes work independently of each other, the brakes can be used to turn sharply or to increase traction if one wheel tends to slip while operating on certain slope conditions.

  • Page 17 Operation CAUTION Do not disconnect the safety switches because they are for the operator’s protection. Check operation of the switches daily to be sure the interlock system is operating correctly. If a switch is malfunctioning, replace it before oper- ating the machine. Replace the switches every two years to be sure of maximum safety.

    Maintenance LUBRICATION GREASING BEARINGS AND BUSHINGS The traction unit has grease fittings that must be lubricated regularly with No. 2 General Purpose Lithium Base Grease. If the machine is operated under normal conditions, lubricate all bearings and bushings after every 50 hours of operation or imme- diately after every washing.
