    Clever Chek TD-3250 Blood Pressure Clinical studies show that the adult diabetes are often accom- panied by elevated blood pressure. People with diabetes can reduce their heart risk by managing their blood pressure along with diabetes treatment* . Knowing your routine blood pressure trend tells whether your body is in good condition or not.

    Both functions work separately (one measurement either blood glucose or blood pressure at a time) to avoid any interference problems. € Major Features Two subtype of TD-3250 were developed and the difference of function between them is simply in data transmission.

    Clever Chek TD-3250 € Appearance of the Test Strip Your system measures the amount of sugar (glucose) in whole blood. Blood is applied to the absorbent hole of the test strip and is automatically drawn into the reaction chamber where the reac- tion takes place.

    PREPARATIONS BEFORE USE € Battery Replacement Your monitor comes with batteries already installed. When re- placing, use ONLY 1.5V AA size alkaline batteries for best per- formance and longest life. The monitor will remind you when the power is getting low by displaying two different messages: 1.
  • Page 19 Clever Chek TD-3250 Make sure the monitor is off when replacing the batteries. STEP 1- Press the edge of the battery cover and pull up. Lift the battery cover and re- move the batteries inside. STEP 2- Insert four 1.5 V AA size alkaline batteries.

    € Setting the Monitor Time, date and units can be set in the monitor. Two keys are involved: S button and M button. Step1 Press the S button to start setting. Step2 Year flashes first. Step3 Press the M button to make changes. Press the S button to next.

    BLOOD GLUCOSE MEASUREMENT € Important Information • Severe dehydration and excessive water loss may cause false low results. If you believe you are suffering from severe dehydration, consult a healthcare professional immediately. • If you get your blood glucose results lower or higher than usual, and do not have symptoms, first repeat the test.     Clever Chek TD-3250 € Checking the Code Number/ Coding the Monitor (For TD-3250B only) When using the system for the first time, or starting to use a new lot of test strips, you will check the code number. It is important to make sure that the LCD displayed code is the same as the code on the test strip vial before you proceed.
  • Page 24 Calibration of TD-3250B monitor. CLEVER CHEK TD-3250B monitor should be calibrated by inserting the code strip. You need to calibrate your monitor ac- cording to the following steps. STEP 1- Fully insert the code strip into the test slot. A single beep will sound and the code number will ap- pear on the display.

    Clever Chek TD-3250 € Checking with TaiDoc Control Solutions TaiDoc control solutions contain a known amount of glucose that reacts with test strips. By comparing your control solution test results with the expected range printed on the test strip vial label, it is able to check that the monitor and the test strips are working together as a system and that you are performing the test cor- rectly.

    € Important Control Solution Information • Use only TaiDoc control solutions. • Check the expiry date on the control solution vial. Do not use if expired. • Control solution, monitor, and test strips should come to room temperature (20~25°C/68~77°F) before testing. • Shake the vial, discard the first drop of control solution, and wipe off the dispenser tip to ensure a good sample and an accurate result.

STEP 1- Insert test strip Insert a test strip with contact bars end first and facing up into the test slot. The monitor turns on automat- ically and displays the followings in sequence: “CHK”...
  • Page 28 WARNING 1. Contact bars must be inserted all the way into the monitor or you may get an inaccurate test result. 2. Every time you perform a control solution test, you must en- ter into the “CTL” test mode so that the test result will not be stored in the monitor memory.
  • Page 29 Clever Chek TD-3250 STEP 3- Obtain control solution Shake the control solution vial well. Remove the cap from the control solution bottle. Place cap on flat surface. Squeeze the vial, discard the first drop, and wipe off the dis- penser tip to prevent contamination.

    Out-of-range results If test results fall outside the range printed on the test strip vial, check the section of “Problem in Operation” in troubleshooting guide and repeat the test. If you continue to get out-of-range re- sults, it means that the system may not be working properly. Do NOT test your blood.

    Clever Chek TD-3250 STEP 1 Setting up the Lancing Device 1. Pull off the cap of the lancing device. 2. Insert a lancet into the lancet holder and push down firmly until it is fully secured. 3. Twist the protective disk off the lancet. 4. Replace the cap by aligning the arrow on the cap with the release button.
  • Page 32 Please follow the suggestions below before obtaining a drop of blood: Wash and dry your hands before starting. Select the puncture site either at fingertips or another body parts (please see section “Alternative Site Testing” (AST) on how to select the appropriate sites). Clean the puncture site using cotton moistened with 70% alco- hol and let it air dry.

The monitor then begins to count down automatically. STEP 5- Obtain an accurate result in 7 seconds The result of your blood glucose test is shown after the monitor counts to 0.

    € Comparing Monitor and Laboratory Results The monitor provides you with whole blood equivalent results. The result you obtain from your monitor may differ somewhat from your laboratory result due to normal variation. Monitor re- sults can be affected by factors and conditions that do not affect laboratory results in the same way (See test strip package insert for typical accuracy and precision data and for important informa- tion on limitations).

    BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT € Suggestions before Measuring 1. Avoid caffeine, tea, alcohol, and cigarette at least 30 minutes before measurement. 2. Wait 30 minutes after exercising or bathing before measure- ment. 3. Sit or lie down for at least 10 minutes before measuring. 4. Do not measure when feeling anxious or tense. 5. Take a 5-10 minute break between measurements. This break can be longer if necessary, depending on your physical condi- tions.

    Clever Chek TD-3250 STEP 4. When the cuff is positioned correctly, pull the end of the cuff to tighten the cuff snugly around your upper arm. You should be able to fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm. STEP 5. Press the hook material firmly against the pile material. The top and bottom edges of the cuff should be tightened evenly around your upper arm.
  • Page 40 After the cuff pressure is reached, the cuff begins to deflate. You will see number decreasing and flashing in the display. STEP 5 Read a result. After the measurement, the moni- tor displays the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and heart rate. Press button to switch off. Or it will switch off automatically af- ter 3 minutes.

    Clever Chek TD-3250 MONITOR MEMORY Your monitor stores the most 352 recent results, and also pro- vides the average of the blood glucose test results currently stored. Please follow the steps listed below to review those re- sults. € View Results on the Monitor Step1 Enter the memory mode When the monitor is off, press the M button.
  • Page 42 Step2 Recall test results After 90-day average, the other results will be displayed in the or- der of time and date taken. You will see the number of the result stored, followed by the result. When the memory is full, the old- est results are deleted as new ones are added.

Accessories needed to activate this function are: • Health Care System Software: a kind of software downloaded from TaiDoc website.

    Clever Chek TD-3250 € Deleting Memory To clear the memory, with the monitor turned off, press and hold the M button for 3 seconds. “CLr/ ALL” then appears and indicates that ALL the memories stored in the monitor will be cleared.

    TAKE CARE OF YOUR MONITOR & STRIP To avoid the monitor and test strips getting dirt, dust or other contaminants, please wash and dry your hands thor- oughly before use. Cleaning € • To clean the monitor exterior, wipe with a cloth moistened with tap water or a mild cleaning agent, then dry the monitor with a soft and dry cloth. Do not flush with water.
