2. The top of each spindle pulley is marked with an arrow. See
Figure 6-6. The arrows should be perpendicular (at a 90˚
angle) to each other.

3. If the arrows on the surface of each spindle pulley are not
perpendicular (at a 90˚ angle) to each other, see your Cub
Cadet dealer to have the deck's blade timing belt reset.
WARNING!
Do not operate the machine without
the deck's blade timing belt properly set. Failure to
follow this instruction could result in personal injury
or property damage.
Adjustments
WARNING!
Shut the engine OFF and remove the
ignition key (if equipped) before making
adjustments.
Handle Height
The upper handle is secured to two support bars that can be
adjusted to raise or lower the handle height. Adjust if necessary
as follows:
1. Remove the upper star knob (a) and carriage screw (b) on
the right side of the handle and the left side of the handle.
See Figure 6-7.

2. Pivot the handle forward or rearward to align one of the
three holes on each support bar with the holes on the
handle.
3. Reinstall the upper star knob (a) and carriage screw (b) on
the right side of the handle and the left side of the handle
when a comfortable height is achieved.
