  • Page 2 User's Manual The Audionet Team congratulates you to your purchase of this excellent audio tuner. The CAT bridges the gap between the classic and the avant- garde. As an analog audio tuner, it receives the well-known broadcast programs in best quality. Additionally, it can be configured as a digital DAB tuner ('Digital Audio Broadcasting').

    Please ensure a solid earth connection. Mains phase ('hot' pin) is marked at the back panel ('Phase') 12. The CAT is a stand by unit. Use the mains switch 11 at the back panel to switch on the CAT. After a short time, the display reads 'Audionet' indicating that the unit is in stand by mode now.
  • Page 5 EPS to the input jack 10 at the back panel of the CAT. Use the power cord provided with the CAT to connect the EPS to mains power. For further details please refer to the user's manual of EPS.
  • Page 6 Digital Inputs If your CAT is equipped with the DAB Module you can use the unit as a high-quality DA-converter. You can connect up to two digital sources to the CAT. There is one optical 9 and one coax (cinch) input 8. Connect the digital inputs of your CAT to the corresponding outputs of your digi- tal sources.
  • Page 7 Operating Use the four keys at the front panel to control all functions of your CAT. To control the CAT more comfortably please use the optional remote control (see section 'Remote Control'). POWER key If the unit is in stand by mode (mains switch 11 is on), you can switch on the CAT by pressing the POWER key.
  • Page 8 UP / DOWN key Use UP and DOWN keys to change the option selected by SET key. For further details please see chapter of corresponding option. Press SET key longer than 2 sec to start searching into the corresponding direction. Automatic search stops when next station is found. While in 'Scan' mode (Set Mode Option = Scan) use UP/DOWN keys for manual frequency selection in FM or AM mode.

    Note: This option is only available if optional DAB Module is installed! Activate the digital output of the CAT, if you like to do digital recordings of one of the digital sources connected to the CAT (DAC mode) or of the current station of digital broadcasting (DAB mode).
  • Page 11 Default: off Set Mode This option selects the function of keys UP/DOWN (front panel) or CH+/CH- (remote control). Press DOWN key to enter 'Scan' mode. The display indicates this mode with the symbol 'SC' in the upper left corner. In 'Scan' mode you can tune up/down one frequency step (FM mode: 50kHz, AM mode: 9kHz) using UP/DOWN keys (press shortly) for man- ual search.
  • Page 12 Press UP key to activate Autostart function ('on'). Press DOWN key to deactivate Autostart function ('off'). Default: off Set Off-Text Select text to be displayed while CAT is in stand by mode. Choose be-  tween 'Audionet' and ' Press DOWN key to select 'Audionet'.
  • Page 13 Presets The CAT offers up to 99 presets to save stations. You can save the re- ceiver mode (FM, AM or DAB) and the frequency of the currently tuned station. In DAB mode the corresponding Ensemble to a tuned Service is saved, too.
  • Page 14 Loading a previously saved preset is done much more comfortably by using the optional remote control. Press key 'LOAD' on screen 1 in de- vice menu CAT. The display shows 'LOAD PRESET:  '. Press number keys on the same screen to enter preset number. After entering the complete preset number, the saved station is loaded.

    In FM mode one step is 50 kHz. Note: If CAT is in 'Preset' mode keys UP and DOWN or 'CH+' and 'CH-' select next or previous preset! Enter 'Scan' mode to use search functions mentioned above.

    SET FM-RECEIVER Use this option to choose, if current program is presented in stereo or mono. Note: If current tuned station broadcasts a mono program, the output is mono even if option is set to stereo. Press key DOWN or 'CH-' to enable stereo reception (if supported by broadcaster).

    DAC Mode If the DAB Module is installed into your CAT, you can also use it as a high quality DA-(Digital-to-Analog-) converter. Two digital sources can be connected to your CAT using the optical digital input 9 and the coax- ial digital input 8.

  • Page 25 Use the number keys on screen 1 to type in the desired FM frequency. As soon as the last digit is entered the CAT tunes to this frequency. In order to leave this input mode without entering the complete frequency (and make no changes) press 'Enter' key again.
  • Page 26 In FM and AM mode use keys 'Tune ▲' and 'Tune ▼' to tune manually. In DAB mode use these keys to start Ensemble search in corresponding direction.
