From what month?
From around the 5th month you are able to hear the heart beat of your unborn baby. This
can be different however for each individual.
What you hear:
The heart of an unborn baby's beats between 120 and 160 times per minute, and sounds
similar to a galloping horse. Hiccup noises sound like two rapid drumbeats and the baby
kicks sound like dull claps.
Best location:
In the early stages of pregnancy a good location to hear the heartbeat is just above the pu-
bic area in the lower abdomen. At a later stage the heartbeat will move higher up towards
the middle of the abdomen.
Tip: Take the BLX-10 with you to the midwife and together find the most appropriate place
to look for the heartbeat.
Best time to listen:
About 3 to 4 hours after a meal would be the most optimum time to listen.
Do not use gel:
You do not need to use gel with the BLX-10 as it works with a sound sensor.
The BLX-10 is not a medical device and should never replace a doctor or midwife. For
questions or concerns about your pregnancy, you should always consult your own doctor
or midwife.
The BLX-10 is not waterproof. You can clean the outside of the product with a damp
cloth. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners.
Keep the BLX 10 out of the reach of children and in a safe place.
Do not place the BLX-10 in direct sunlight.
It is advisable to remove the battery if the unit is not being used over a long period (>1
month).
