Step 1 Turn the Camera On and Select A (Auto) Mode

This section describes how to take pictures in A (auto) mode, an automatic,
"point-and-shoot" mode recommended for first-time users of digital cameras.

Press the power switch to turn on the camera.
The power-on lamp (green) will light for a moment and
the monitor will turn on. The lens will also extend.
Proceed to step 4 when A is displayed.

Press the A button to display the
shooting-mode selection menu.

Tap A in the monitor.
The camera enters A (auto) mode.

Check the battery level and the number of
exposures remaining.
