Backup and Reset

Back up application data, Wi‑Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers.
Backup Your Data
1. From a Home screen, tap
Apps g
2. Tap Back up my data to enable automatic back up of your data to a Google Account.
3. Tap Backup account to set up a Google Account for backups. You can create a new Google Account, or
sign in to an existing account.
4. Tap Automatic restore to restore an app's settings and other information from the backup (if available)
when you reinstall that app.
Factory Data Reset
Reset all settings to the factory defaults, and permanently delete all data from the tablet.
1. From a Home screen, tap
Apps g
2. Tap Factory data reset g Reset device.
3. Follow the prompts to perform the reset.
Collect Diagnostics
This feature only collects diagnostic data for troubleshooting use.
1. From a Home screen, tap
Apps g
diagnostics.
2. Read the on‑screen System Manager Application information.
Note: This software collects only diagnostic data from your device so that T-Mobile technicians can better
troubleshoot issues with your device.
3. Choose to enable or disable the feature by placing a check mark in the Allow Diagnostics field.
4. Select either More Info... (to read additional information) or Close to close the message screen.
Note: Selecting Close only closes the current description screen and does not disable data collection.
To disable data collection, go to Settings g General tab g Backup and reset g Collect diagnostics and
turn off the Allow Diagnostics feature.

Date and Time

By default, your tablet receives date and time information from the wireless network. When you are outside network
coverage, you may want to set date and time information manually using the Date and time settings.
1. From a Home screen, tap

2. Tap a setting to configure:
● Automatic date and time: When enabled, the tablet takes date and time updates from the wireless network.
● Set date: Enter the current date (only available when Automatic date and time is disabled).
● Set time: Enter the current time (only available when the Automatic setting is disabled).
● Automatic time zone: When enabled, the tablet takes the time zone from the wireless network.
● Select time zone: Choose your local time zone (only available when the Automatic setting is disabled).
● Use 24-hour format: Set the format for time displays.
● Select date format: Set the format for date displays.

Accessories

Configure your tablet's behavior when it is connected to an optional dock (not included).
► From a Home screen, tap

Dock
● Dock sound: Play a sound when you insert and remove the tablet from the dock.
● Audio output mode: Play audio through the dock speakers when the tablet is docked.
HDMI
● Audio output: Flip the S View cover open to unlock the screen when the secure lock is disabled and the
tablet is docked.
Book cover
● Automatic unlock: If you are using an optional cover, you can enable your device to automatically unlock
when you open the cover.
● Daynote: Show a quick note pad with the date, time weather, your schedule, and drawings when you open
the book cover.
● Unit: Set the degree unit to Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Application Manager

You can download and install applications from the Google Play Store or Samsung Apps, or create applications
using the Android SDK and install them on your tablet. Use Application manager to manage applications on your
tablet.
Warning! Because this device can be configured with system software not provided by or supported by Google
or any other company, end-users operate these devices at their own risk.
This menu allows you to manage installed applications. You can view and control currently running services, or use
the device for application development.
You can also view the amount of memory or resources used as well as the remaining memory and resources for
each of the applications on your phone and clear the data, cache, or defaults.
1. From a Home screen, tap

2. Tap DOWNLOADED, SD CARD, RUNNING, or ALL to view the status of applications and services. Touch an
app or service for more information and for app options, such as stopping or uninstalling.
Uninstalling Third-party Applications
You must have downloaded applications installed to use this feature.
1. From a Home screen, tap
Apps g
2. Tap the DOWNLOADED tab and select your desired application.
3. Tap Uninstall (from within the top area of the Application info page).
4. At the prompt, tap OK to uninstall the application.
5. Select a reason for uninstalling the application, then tap OK.
