    It is used to highlight particular requirements of the installation process. 1.3 Safety notes The LEAF Microinverter M500-S is equipped with an isolation transformer between the PV side and the grid network, with insulation of reinforced type. Before installing and using any LEAF Microinverter M500-S, be sure to have read and fully understood the instructions provided in this manual.
  • Page 5 The aluminum body of the LEAF Microinverter M500-S serves as a heatsink and can reach high temperatures, therefore it should not be touched during operation. The proper functioning of the LEAF Microinverter M500-S is subject to the limits of voltage, current and power stated in the product datasheet.

    In case of fault, contact the installer or the LEAF customer support. Once xed to the structure of the photovoltaic system, no weights shall be put on top of the LEAF Microinverter M500-S. In any case, avoid falling objects or weights exceeding 10kg to be placed on top of the microinverter.

  • Page 8 The removal of one or more LEAF M500-S microinverter does not compromise the functionality and the ef ciency of the remaining part of the system In order to facilitate monitoring and consequent support, the installer must provide the map of the installation as described in Appendix (pag.14), reporting the serial numbers of micro-inverter used.

    • Connecting the AC bus of the PV system at all the LEAF M500-S microinverters • Connecting all the LEAF M500-S microinverters to their respective panel or to the pair of solar panels associated with it • Connecting the AC bus of the PV system to the grid Make sure the bolts used are noticeable on the backsheet of the module, even in conditions of snow load on the module.

    4.2.1 Connection without WIELAND distribution units Realize the connections as shown in gure 4.2.     4.3 Connecting to the PV panels The LEAF M500-S microinverters may be connected to 1 or 2 photovoltaic modules, depending on module charateristcs: in the case of connection to a pair of modules, these must be previously connected in series as shown in gure 4.5.

    5. REMOVING A LEAF MICROINVERTER M500-S Strictly adhere to the connection sequence of LEAF M500-S microinverter, so to prevent parts accessible to the operator from becoming live. • Isolate the AC bus of the photovoltaic system from the grid.
