Getting started
Press "-" & "+" Together
for C/F Switch
1. Simply remove the battery sleeve.
2. Unfold the probe to power on/off the thermometer.
Using the Thermometer
Power On/Off
1. Default Alert setting of the Flare Thermometer is Alert On.
Press the "ALERT" button to turn off the temperature alert function, and the alert signal will disappear on the LCD.
2. Press the "+" or "-" button to adjust the temperature setting. Hold the "UP" or "DOWN" button to adjust the setting fast.
3. Setting range is from -4°F - 482°F (-20-250°C) When the cooking temperature has reached the alert temperature,
the buzzer begins to alert with a sound, and the alert signal flashes. Press any button to stop the alert.
4. Find your desired target temperatures in the chart included in this manual.
5. C/F Change. To change the temperature unit from C to F or from F to C, press the + and – together to choose C or F.
6. Press Light key to turn on the backlight. Auto power saving will turn off the backlight after 5 seconds.
7. Hold Function. Press Light Key for 2 seconds, the "Cooking Temp" will disappear and the probe will "hold" the last
temperature reached.
If you need to cancel the "Hold" Long press "Light Key" for 2 seconds.
8. Fold the probe to turn the device to OFF mode.
NOTE
The unit itself is not heat resistant. The plastic, screen, batteries and buttons can not withstand heat of more than 150 °F for a
short period of time. Therefore do not leave the unit inside the BBQ/Smoker Pit or Oven. If you need to detect temperature more
than 176°F (80°C), please make sure making a proper protection of your hand to avoid scald.

ROLLED ROASTS A temperature of 160° F / 71°C is recommended when a roast of any type has been rolled, as surface bacteria may have
been rolled into the center of the roast.
FISH Fish is done when the meat flakes easily with a fork and appears opaque all the way through. I unsure by appearance, a temperature
of 155° F / 68°C is recommended.
SHRIMP AND LOBSTER TAILS Flesh is fully cooked when it turns opaque and firm. Use caution to avoid overcooking shrimp or lobster.

Limited Warranty (EU and Switzerland)
Notwithstanding the disclaimer of warranties above, this product, excluding batteries and liquid crystal display (LCD), is
guaranteed by Cappec to be free of defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. It
will be repaired or replaced with an equivalent product (at Cappec s option) free of charge for any defect in workmanship or
materials during that time.
This warranty explicitly excludes defects due to misuse, accidental damage, or wear and tear. This warranty does not affect
the consumer's statutory rights.
Limited Warranty (outside U.S., EU and Switzerland)
Notwithstanding the disclaimer of warranties above, this product, excluding batteries and liquid crystal display (LCD), is
guaranteed by Cappec to be free of defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. It

Products purchased outside the United States, the European Union and Switzerland that are returned under warranty should

AND WORKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE AS EVIDENCED BY A
COPY OF THE SALES RECEIPT. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DAMAGE DUE TO ACTS OF GOD,
ACCIDENT, MISUSE, ABUSE, NEGLIGENCE, MODIFICATION, UNSUITABLE ENVIRONMENT, OR IMPROPER MAINTE-

CONTACTS OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE CAUSED BY BATTERIES. CAPPEC SHALL NOT HAVE ANY LIABILITY TO THE
PURCHASER OR ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL

EVIDENCED BY THE SALES RECEIPT. SOME STATES/JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION
OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
