    1.3GB fixed disk compatible with Hewlett-Packard 1000E, M, or F computers running RTE-IVB and RTE- VI. In this manual we refer to the Bering OptiPac disk drive as OptiPac and all HP systems as computer, unless otherwise indicated.

    2. Remove the HP 13037 MAC (Multiple Access Controller) interface board and module from the HP 1000. 3. Plug the Bering 2000MX MAC Disk Interface into the HP 1000 where the 13037 MAC interface board was removed from. 4. Attach the SCSI cable to the Bering MAC Disk Interface installed in the computer and the other end to either SCSI connector on the back panel of the OptiPac drive.

    Note: To avoid regeneration of the operating system, the HP 13037 MAC board must first be removed and the Bering MAC Disk Interface should be inserted in the same slot. 2. Slide the 2000MX MAC Disk Interface into the empty slot in the HP 1000 computer where the 13037 MAC board was removed from and push until it is fully seated in the slot.

These instructions are for connecting an OptiPac 6611MD model to the Bering 2000MX MAC Disk Interface installed in the HP 1000. The cartridge will not eject when Drive Button this button is depressed because the OptiPac controller has issued a lock command to the cartridge drive. The cartridge must be ejected using the Unload cartridge function in the LCD main menu.

    Do not use defective or questionable cartridges on another drive. You • may spread the problem. Preventive Bering subsystems will provide extended and reliable service as long as Maintenance the drives are properly maintained. The Bering OptiPac subsystems require no preventive maintenance. If you have any questions concerning the proper preventive maintenance procedures please contact Bering Customer Support.
