In Vista, there is one more option: Enable NETGEAR Smart Wizard.

If you clear the check mark for Enable NETGEAR Smart Wizard, the NETGEAR Smart Wizard is
disabled, and you must set up the wireless adapter with Vista auto-configuration.

Wireless-N USB Adapter LED

The LED on the wireless USB adapter indicates the condition of wireless link.
Wireless-N USB Adapter
The LED color changes
depending on the type of
network connection. Amber
indicates 2.4 GHz, and blue
indicates 5 GHz.

Placing the USB Adapter Cradle

You can attach the wireless USB adapter directly to a USB port on your computer, or use the USB
cable to extend the range and obtain better wireless reception.
To use the USB cable, plastic cradle, and loop-and-hook fastener for better USB adapter placement
on a computer monitor:
LED
Meaning
Off
• The wireless USB adapter in not plugged in to the USB port.
• The wireless USB adapter is in power save mode (default
from power up or reset).
Slow
• Alternating amber and blue. The wireless USB adapter is
blinking
scanning for a network.
• Amber. The wireless USB adapter is connecting to a
network at 2.4 GHz.
• Blue. The wireless USB adapter is connecting to a network
at 5 GHz.
Blinking
The wireless USB adapter is connected to a wireless network,
and is sending or receiving data.
Solid
The wireless USB adapter isconnected to a wireless network,
but it is not sending or receiving data.
