applications. Installs on the return air plenum with a
by-pass duct from the supply plenum in down-flow
applications. See Typical Applications.
Provides additional humidity to the home during the
heating season to increase comfort level.
Do not install where freezing may occur.
Humidifier, saddle valve and manual or automatic
humidifier control (depending on model) shipped in one
package.
Sequence of Operation
Humidifier will only operate when indoor blower is
operating.
When the level of moisture in the return air or living
space area drops below the set point of the humidifier
control, the water solenoid valve opens, water flows
into distribution tray and weeps down through the
evaporator pad. By-pass air flows over the evaporator
pad, increasing the humidity of the air, and then back
into the return air stream. When the humidifier control
is satisfied the water solenoid valve closes.

Do you have a question about the HCWB3 and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
when do you turn humidifier unit to 'off' position? do you also turn off the water supply valve?
The Healthy Climate HCWB3 humidifier unit should be turned to the 'off' position at the end of the heating season. Yes, the water supply valve should also be turned off at that time.

There is a lot of water being passed through the humidifier and into the drain. I think it is far too much. What could be going on?
Excessive water drainage in the Healthy Climate HCWB3 humidifier could be caused by the following factors:
1. Clogged or Faulty Internal Strainer – A blocked or malfunctioning strainer may cause water to overflow and drain excessively.
2. Improper Water Conductivity – If the water has high mineral content, excessive mineral deposits may form, leading to improper operation and increased drainage.
3. Malfunctioning Water Solenoid Valve – A faulty brass water solenoid valve with a stainless steel seat may not regulate water flow correctly, causing too much water to enter and drain.
4. Incorrect Drain Fitting Installation – If the 1/2-inch drain fitting at the bottom of the cabinet is not installed properly, it may allow more water to drain than necessary.
5. Bypass Duct Issues – If the flexible bypass duct is not correctly installed, it may cause improper airflow and increased water drainage.
6. Evaporator Pad Issues – A worn-out or improperly seated evaporator media pad may not absorb water effectively, leading to excess drainage.
Regular maintenance, including cleaning and replacing parts when necessary, can help prevent excessive water drainage.
