Disconnecting From Your Computer: Before disconnecting the Digital Camera from the computer, be sure to stop the device in Windows . To stop the Digital Camera, please follow the steps below: Remove from PC: (For Windows Me/2000/XP/VISTA) 1 . Click the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon located on the task bar . Page 6: Loading The Batteries
Loading the Batteries 1 . Remove the battery box cover by sliding it off . Insert two (2) AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment, observing the proper polarity as indicated . 2 . Push the battery compartment cover down and slide forward to close . Battery precautions Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device . 1 . Use only the size and type of batteries specified . 2 . Be sure to follow the correct polarity (+/–) when installing the batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment . Reversed polarity may cause damage to the device . 3 . Do not mix different types of batteries together (e .g . Alkaline and Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with new ones . 4 . If the device will not be used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage .

Power On/Off Push the POWER button for 2 seconds to activate your digital camera . Push it again to turn it off . If the digital camera is left inactive for 1, 3 or 5 minutes, it will automatically turn off . Auto-Off can be set to 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or disabled . (For more information, see the “Setup” section . ) . Power Low If your battery is low, you will see a battery icon ( ) and “Low battery” will display on the bottom left corner of the LCD . It will then turn itself off in 3 seconds . Using the Filter The quality of images or videos will be better when you install the filter on the lens before taking pictures or recording video when in daylight . Note: When using a Night Shoot LED to capture a night scene, remove the filter . (For more information about night shooting, see Camera Mode on pages 13-15)

Attach the filter to the camcorder . 1 . In order to avoid damaging or losing the filter, attach the filter to the camcorder using the included connecting cord . Do not use the cord as a hand strap to carry the camcorder . 2 . Attach the string as indicated by looping the connecting cord through the strap lug on the bottom of the unit . Modes Setup Playback Voice Recorder Mass Storage Camcorder PC Cam Burst Camera Setup Language, Date & Times, Auto Off, Light Frequency, Beep, TV Output, Format, System Reset and S . Image can be set in Setup Mode . 1 . Switch MODE knob to Setup Mode .

Press Shutter again to confirm or Menu to exit without any change . • Language: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese • Date Input: (Set the date and time .) 1 . Press Shutter to enter . 2 . Press e or d to select Off or Set . If you select Set, press e or d and f or g to make changes . The Date has three modes: YYYY/MM/DD DD/MM/YYYY MM/DD/YYYY Press e or d to select the mode desired . Then press f or g and e or d to set the date and times desired . 3 . Press Shutter again to confirm and return . • Auto off: Off, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes (To conserve power, you can set Auto-off function .)

• Beep: On, Off (Turn the key tone ON or OFF) • TV Output: NTSC, PAL (Select the TV output format . The standard output in North America is NTSC .) • Format: Execute, Cancel (Format the memory storage . Warning: Formatting the memory will delete all images, videos, voice recordings and files .) • Sys. Reset: Execute, Cancel (Return to the factory default settings .) • S. Image (Startup Image): Default, User Image 1, 2 or 3 . (You can choose the Default or user image as startup image .) Playback Mode Turn the Mode knob to Playback to play videos, recorded voice and pictures .
Page 11 Playback of Videos or Voice Recordings 1 . Use the arrow keys f, g, e or d to scroll through the voice recordings or video clips . 2 . Press Shutter once to select the desired voice recording or video clip . 3 . Press Shutter again to start the voice recording or video clip . Press Shutter again to pause the voice recording or video clip . 4 . While playing back, press e to fast forward the video clip (1x/2x/4x/8x speed) . 5 . Press d to stop the voice recording or video clip . 6 . To adjust volume, press Menu and select Volume 7 . To return to the selection panel, press – (minus) beside the LCD Panel .

Burst Mode This Digital Video can shoot continuously shoot up to 3 pictures within 0 .5 seconds . 1 . Turn Mode knob to Burst mode . 2 . The operating method is the same as in Camera mode . 3 . Press Menu to set the picture quality, the same as Camera mode . Note: • Scene Mode cannot be operated in Burst mode . • In this mode, you can also open the Flash light LED and Night shoot LED to strengthen the environment’s light . Page 18: Memory Space Indication
Mass Storage Mode is compatible with Windows and can be used by connecting the Digital Camcorder to a computer with the supplied USB cable . Images or movies can be copied, moved or deleted in exactly the same way as other files on your computer . Note: For Windows ME, 2000, XP and VISTA operating system, it is not necessary to install the Digital Camera driver . Driver installation is only needed for Windows 98 . Memory Space Indication 1 . is shown in the lower left corner of display that indicates the micro SD Card is inserted in the device (see FIG-1) . 2 . When the internal memory is full, “Memory Full” will be displayed on the LCD . 3 . Once the memory is full and the camera does not have external memory installed, the last image, audio or video will not be saved after the power is turned off . Caution: Please note that this Digital Camcorder does not support hot swapping of the memory card, so be sure to turn off the Digital Camcorder before inserting or removing the memory card .

Installing Digital Camera Driver 1 . Insert the CD into your computer 2 . Double Click DRIVER folder in CD . 3 . Click SETUP, the screen below will appear . 4 . STK02N Installation Program will auto run until the following screen appears . 5 . Click FINISH to complete the installation . 6 . Restart the computer after completing the installation Installing Arcsoft Photo Editing Software Install all software before connecting the Digital Camera to a computer . 1 . Insert the CD into CD-ROM driver . The software will auto run .

2 . Select the language . 3 . Click YES and the driver will start the Arcsoft Installation . 4 . Press NEXT until the following screen appears . C lick FINISH to finish Arcsoft Installation . Operating Arcsoft Software Captured images can be edited and the PC Cam mode can be activated with the Arcsoft Software . To edit images, set the USB Connection to Mass Storage mode . To capture images through the Arcsoft Software, set the USB Connection to PC Cam mode . (See “PC Camera Mode”, page 17 .) Note: This software does not support the Mac operating system . 1 .
