Song Setup Presets Sometimes selecting a Rhythm Style and registration for a song is easy. For example, if you are going to play a Hawaiian song, you would use one of the many Hawaiian Rhythm Styles and Rhythm Preset. If you are going to play a Polka, you would use one of the Polka Rhythm Styles and Rhythm Preset.

RECORDING YOUR MUSIC The Sterling gives you the capability to record, edit, playback, and distribute your own musical PREVIEW: performances. Share your songs with other Sterling owner’s by utilizing the (included MEMORY STICK with your Sterling). ‘Burn’ your music-making to a compact disk, with the Sterling’s and play it back on any CD Player*, including the CD player on the Sterling.

Formatting is a process that enables a memory stick and the Sterling to speak the same language. A new memory stick, other than the one labeled ‘Lowrey’ that was supplied with the Sterling, must be formatted one time before it can be used. Once formatted, the memory stick can be used repeatedly for Music Recordings and saving Bank Presets in your Sterling.

TEMPO TEMPO The two buttons control the tempo of a Rhythm Style and the Golden TEMPO Harp. It also serves as part of the “beat” indicator along with the Drum Volume buttons. To increase the tempo, press the upper TEMPO button. To decrease the tempo, press the lower TEMPO button.

“C”, blue is for “F”, and green is for “G” chords. is Lowrey’s chord recognition system that has the unique ability to respond to different methods of forming lower keyboard chords. MCS will reply whether you form one and two finger MCS chords or if you play multi-fingered chords.
(Cm, Fm, Gm, B m, F#m, etc.) Any Minor chord can be played with the “traditional” three MINOR CHORD: notes or with two notes. An easy-play (MCS) minor chord requires two notes. The first note matches the letter name of the desired chord (just like a Major chord). To determine the second note, count UP (to the right) three consecutive notes or keys.

The Repeat feature adds authenticity to sounds like the Banjo, Mandolin, or Marimba. Repeat can also be used as an interesting effect for other sounds. Press the Repeat button, turning it off, if you do not want the feature. The Repeat speed can be changed. Press the screen button on the .
The buttons control the amount of Reverb. There are different REVERB types of reverb from which to choose. The type and amount of reverb is preset from Lowrey. BASS on page 123 for additional selections.
Volume levels (and Reverb levels) range from 0 (no volume) to 100 (maximum). Pressing the screen button on the will display the Numeric Keypad and enable you to change the level. Enter KEYPAD TOUCH SCREEN the desired number on the Keypad and press the appropriate button. It makes no difference whether you press the upper or lower button.
Many of the Presets use the effects found in the Animation section. For example, the buttons (the fac- FAST tory setting) give the Flute tabs that “Sweet Lowrey Sound.” Using the buttons will change the char- SLOW acter of the Flute sounds to a “church” type sound.
