Page 9 Instruction Manual KE-5500 Intended Use The Juice extractor is a technical tool which exclusively should be used for its’ intended purpose. Juice extractor can only be used for juicing vegetables or fruits. For example: carrots, potatoes, beets (raw), celery, pineapple (without drink), apples, pears, etc.

Instruction Manual KE-5500 Installation and Function Accordance with the mounted machine parts the juice extractor juices fruit and vegetables. These are placed in this collecting bowl. The juice comes from the juice outlet. The marc, produced during the processing, passes through the chute at the GN- container.

Instruction Manual KE-5500 Transportation and Packaging Always transport the juice extractor in the intended box. Always transport the machine upright and make sure juice extractor is secured. In case there is more than one juice extractor on the pallet do not put another pallet on top of it.

Instruction Manual KE-5500 Use and Operating Safety instruction for operating the slicer It is strictly prohibited to put your fingers in the marc chut or in the opening in the lid while the machine is running. The risk of injury is too high.
Page 19 Instruction Manual KE-5500 Emergency Turn Off In case of emergency you have to push the push button (11) or rotate away the lever (4) to turn off the engine. When rotating away of the lever (4) while the engine is running, the power supply is interrupted and the built-in braking device stops centrifugal basket within seconds.
Page 20 Instruction Manual KE-5500 Removing of the centrifugal basket and the collecting bowl Release the lid (2) with the lever (4) and take it from the intermedi- ate ring (7). To remove the centrif- ugal basket (5) you have loose the screw in the centrifugal basket it by using the box spanner (10).
Page 21 Instruction Manual KE-5500 Removal of the marc chute For cleaning or to remove blockage the marc chute (9) can be removed. For this loosen the star knob (13) and re- move the marc chute (9) from the outlet of the intermediate ring.

Then put the marc chute (8) into the mounting chute (15) and put the marc chute (8) over the outlet of the intermediate ring and fasten it with the star knob (13) firmly.
Page 23 Instruction Manual KE-5500 Cleaning Before you use the juice extractor the first time make sure you clean it thor- oughly. Also, clean the machine multiple times during the day after use. Always use standard cleansers for cleaning the juicer. The juice extractor is only protected against splash water.
Page 24 Instruction Manual KE-5500 While processing vegetables, especially carrots, a layer is formed which gradu- ally clogs the sieve if left and heavily impairs the working of the juice extractor less juice. Therefore, it is necessary to soak the centrifugal basket in a normal, diluted washing up liquid for dishes for an hour or two at least once a week and clean it with a brush.

In case of blockage turn of the juice extractor and unplug the juice extractor from the outlet. After doing this you can try to remove the blocking material.
