T R O U B L E S H O O T I N G
Use the following guide to identify symptoms and solve
problems. Make sure the vehicle's electrical system is
working properly and power is reaching the Kappa 102a
(i.e., green LEDs on the top panel are on).
SYMPTOM
LIKELY CAUSE
No audio
Low /No Remote
Turn-On Voltage
Speakers are not
connected or are
blown
Distorted audio
Input sensitivity
and/or bass control
is not set properly
Audio lacks
Speakers are wired
"punch"
with wrong polarity
SYMPTOM
Audio cycles
off and on;
Amber protec-
tion LEDs (on
SOLUTION

Check connections;
test turn-on voltage
Check wiring; use
VOM/DVM to
measure speaker
coil impedance

LIKELY CAUSE
SOLUTION
A protection circuit
Verify the following–
is turning the
electrical system is
amplifier off and on
between 10 ~ 15.5 Vdc;
temperature is not
over 194°F (90°C);
no short circuits;
speaker loads are not
less than 1 ohm
(2 ohms in mono)
GAIN is set too high
Set Input Sensitivity
correctly (see previous
page)
Incorrect wiring or
Check connections;
short circuit
refer to Applications
(see page 3)
