1.Longest lifeandbest p erformance
canbeobtained ifthebattery
pack ischarged when theairtemperature
isbetween 60°F and80°F
(16 °-27°C). DONOT charge t hebattery p ack inanairtemperature
below +40°F (+4.5°C), orabove + 105°F ( +40.5°C). This is important
and wilt p revent serious damage tothebattery p ack.
2.The charger andbattery p ack may become warm totouch
while charging. This isanormal condition, anddoes notindicate a
problem. Tofacilitate thecooling o fthebattery p ack after u se, a void
placing t hecharger orbattery p ack ina warm environment
such as
ina metal shed, oranuninsutated
trailer.
3.Ifthebattery p ack does notcharge p roperly:
a.Check current atreceptacle
byplugging
inalamp o rother appliance
b.Check t oseeifreceptacle isconnected toa light s witch
which t urns power offwhen youturn out t helights.
c.Move c harger and battery pack t oalocation where t he surrounding
airtemperature
isapproximately

4.The battery p ack should berecharged when itfails toproduce
sufficient power onjobs which were easily d one previously. DO
NOT CONTINUE
touseunder these conditions. Follow thecharging
procedure. Youmay also charge a partially used pack whenever
youdesire w ith noadverse affect o nthebattery p ack.
5.Foreign m aterials ofaconductive nature s uch as,butnotlimited
to,steel wool, aluminum f oil, o ranybuildup o fmetallic particles
should b ekept a way f rom charger cavities. Always u nplug t he
charger from thepower s upply w hen there isnobattery p ack inthe
cavity. Unplug c harger before a ttempting toclean.
6.Donotfreeze o rimmerse charger inwater o ranyother l iquid.
Z_WARNING:
Shock hazard. Do not allow any liquid to get
inside charger. Never attempt to open the battery pack for any
reason. If the plastic housing of the battery pack breaks or cracks,
return to a service center for recycling.
STATE OF CHARGE iNDICATOR (FIGURE B)
The back of the battery is equipped with a state of charge indicator. T his can
be usedto display the current levelof charge inthe battery during use and
duringcharging, it does not indicatetool functionalityand is subject to variation
based on product components, temperature and end-user application.
Checking state of charge during use:
• Press the state of charge indicator button (B1).
• The four LED's (B2) wilt illuminate indicating the percent of
charge in the battery. See chart in figure B.
• If LED light does not Iluminate, charge battery.
NOTE:
This battery is designed to not
operate when a charge below 20% of
@
its capacity is reached. After the battery
charge is depleted, the toot wilt not
operate until after the battery has been
recharged.
ZhWARNING:
Make certain the tool is switched off before
removing or installing battery.
TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK:
Insert battery pack into tool untilfully seated and an
audible click is heard (figure C). Makesure battery
pack is fully seated and fully latched into position.
TO REMOVE BATTERY PACK: Depress the
battery release button in the back of the battery
pack and pull battery pack out of tool.
ZLWARNING:
Before assembly, make
sure that the toot is switched off and the
battery has been removed.
