The Web Configuration Manager built into the router contains a Set-up Wizard that can
automatically determine your network connection type. If your router has not yet
been configured, the Set-up Wizard shown above should launch automatically.
NOTE: If instead of the Set-up Wizard menu, the main menu of the router's
Configuration Manager appears, click the Set-up Wizard link in the upper left to bring
up this menu.
You must select a country and language. For a Bulldog connection, this should be UK
and English.
Select "yes" to allow the router to automatically determine your connection and then
click on next.
The Wizard will then search for a connection type and will then present you with the
PPPoA Log-in Account Set-up screen as shown below:
Enter your Bulldog user name and password, which you will find in your welcome letter
and email, for example bddsl-12345@bulldogdsl.com (log-in) and abcdefg (password).
NOTE: The letters in your username and password fields are case sensitive and
should be entered exactly as found in your welcome letter and email.
Click on "Apply". You will then be redirected to the main set-up page for the Netgear
DG834G. At this stage you should be connected to the internet via your Bulldog
connection and can test this by launching another browser window and attempting to
view a website page.
Your router is now configured to provide internet access for your network. Your router
automatically connects to the internet when one of your computers requires access. It
is not necessary to run a dialer or log-in application such as Dial-Up Networking to
connect, log in or disconnect. These functions are performed by the router as
needed.
