    Chapter 1 Introduction welcome to nutriblend Congratulations on purchasing your Cooks Professional Nutri Blend Pro Blender – the perfect addition to any kitchen, and to your healthy lifestyle! Although the Nutri Blend is perfect for smoothies it can also be used to save time in the kitchen when anything needs blending, mixing or pureeing; helping you to get the most out of life as well as your food! Check out our delicious recipes and start nutri blending today! Before you start, have a look at our handy tips & hints for blending: Soak hard ingredients like nuts, seeds & dried fruits to spare your machine undue stress and enhance the texture of your dish. Chop vegetables and grate fibrous food like carrots and ginger to limit street on the motor. Layer your ingredients – liquids should always come first followed by powdered ingredients, soft foods, hard foods and finally ice. Don’t overload the jug – if blending a large quantity, always do so in batches. Always start at a low speed and work your way up. This will, again, protect the motor and stop food from being sprayed up the sides of the jug. Always process thick blends in short intervals (30 seconds) to avoid overheating. When blending hot liquids allow them to cool first. Fill the jug halfway, place the lid on, remove the lid plug and place a dish towel over the opening to allow steam to escape. Invest in spatulas – one broad, the other thin and narrow.
