    Mobile devices are excellently qualified for integrating local service processes in a retail company’s process chain. With the PSA /go, Wincor Nixdorf of- fers the retailers an innovative solution concept for the area of customer services, which includes personal shopping and personal pricing.

    The PSA /go was designed according to the Wincor Nixdorf standard for "Environmentally Friendly Product Design and Development". The PSA /go system is manufactured without use of FCKW and CKW and is manufactured predominantly of components and materials that are recyclable.

    Resetting the PSA /go device In case the software on the PSA /go device malfunctions or freezes, reset has to be used to bring it to normal state. There are two types of reset – soft and hard.

    PSA /go Discharged battery When the battery is discharged, the device looses all the data in RAM. There is no backup battery. Put the device to the docking station or connect it to the Travel plug. Note: The device makes a hard reset, when it is connected to power after discharge.

    PSA /go Using keyboard The PSA /go device is not equipped with a physical keyboard.To enter text or numbers it is possi- ble to use: - Physical keyboard (connected to the Docking Station) - Virtual keyboard Virtual keyboard You can show or hide virtual keyboard by tapping icon in the tray bar on the desktop of the de- vice.

  • Page 16 PSA /go In the section ‘BCR parameters’ BCR Control allows the user to test modification of the parame- ters of BCR module. You can read the settings with ‘Read’ button select a parameter and set the value for this parameter and then write changes to BCR module memory using the ‘Write’ button (see Figure 8).

    PSA /go Power Power Properties allow the user to control and set power options for the PSA /go. These two tabs are important: - Main Battery – current power status overview of main battery - Schemes – Settings for PSA /go Power schemes...

    PSA /go Schemes On this tab you can define Power Schemes for device running on battery and for device powered from AC source. Each Power Scheme holds the time, after which the Gotive device goes to: User Idle, System Idle, Suspend state.

    PSA /go Display Advanced Backlight You can predefine, after how long time of user inactivity the device will reduce the display backlight to preserve battery power. The display backlight is reduced from previous value to 12%. Touching the display again restores the previous backlight level.

    PSA /go Rotation Control (Gotive) With the PSA /go device you can select either landscape or a portrait view orientation for any given situation. Tap on the button with the preferred rotation option and the screen will rotate into the new position.

    PSA /go Calibration of the touch-pad Calibration can be started from the Control Panel. Execute the ‘Stylus’ control. Then choose the ‘Calibration’ tab and click ‘Recalibrate’.     PSA /go Proper Care and Maintenance Display (1) Lightly wipe to clean the dirty surface with absorbent cotton or other soft material like chamois, soaked in the recommended chemicals without scrubbing it hard. Always wipe the surface horizon- tally or vertically. Never give a wipe in a circle. To prevent the display surface from damage and to keep the appearance in good state, it is sufficient, in general, to wipe it with absorbent cotton.
