Inverse Square Law
The inverse-square law states that when the
distance from the speaker to the microphone
is doubled, the microphone pickup is reduced
by 1/4. This should be taken into account when
choosing the microphone placement, especially
when in areas with a high level of ambient noise.
The 3:1 Rule
The 3:1 rule should be used as a guideline for the
minimum amount of space between microphones.
The minimum space between each microphone
should be no less than 3 times the distance from
the sound source to the microphone.
