Operating instructiOns fOr JapceLL Bc-9000 Battery charger
1. For your safety
To prevent damage to this charger or injury to yourself or others,
please read the following operating instructions before usage.
Keep the operating instructions for future reference.
2. Key Features
The BC-9000 battery charger is an intelligent and powerful battery
charging system with room for up to 8 AA/AAA, NiMH/NiCd batter-
ies in any combination. The two LCD screens display the charging
status of each individual battery, and a charge protection system
ensures that your batteries are charged to their maximum capacity
in a safe manner.
 The BC-9000 features EIGHT independent circuits that charge
1-8 AA/AAA, NiHM/NiCd batteries in any combination.
 6 level charge protection:
1. DV cut off.
2. Timer control protection.
3. Overheat protection.
4. Reverse Polarity Protection.
5. Short circuit protection.
6. Defective and non-rechargeable battery detection.
 Two LCD screens displaying the charging progress, charging
voltage, charging current, charging time, battery inside resis-
tance and battery capacity.
 AC Adapter: 100-240V, 50/60Hz
3. Quick Start Directions
1. Put 1-8 AA/AAA batteries in the charger.
2. Plug in the charger.
3. Select a program using one of the two large keys on either side
of the charger: charge/discharge/recycle 1/recycle 2/recycle 3.
4. Set the charge-/discharge current by using key 3 and 4. Con-
firm your choice by pressing key 1 (see section on "The key
functions"). The charging or discharging starts.
5. When using the recycle function you must set both the charge
and discharge current before confirming your choice.
6. When the batteries are fully charged the LCD screen turns off
automatically.
7. Unplug the charger and remove the batteries when fully
charged or not in use. Please observe the recommended
charging time. Be careful not to overcharge your batteries.
8. Your batteries are charged and ready for use.
4. The Key Functions
1. The two large keys on either side of the charger set the pri-
mary charging programs:
 Charge
 Discharge
 Recycling 1 (charge, discharge, recharge)
 Recycling 2 (charge, discharge, recharge x 2)
 Recycling 3 (charge, discharge, recharge x 3)
Beneath each LCD screen there are four keys that are used
to set the charge-/discharge current:

 Key 1:
Is used to confirm your choice. When you have set the charge-/
discharge current you press this key to confirm, and the charg-
ing begins.
 Key 2:
Has no function in this regard, but is used to monitor the charg-
ing status of your batteries.
 Key 3:
Sets the charging current (from 1000-100 mA). It starts at a
1000 mA, and with each press the charging current is lowered
with 100mA. Once you have found the right setting, you confirm
your choice by pressing key 1. (AAA batteries can't be charged
at more than 500mA - see "Charging current for AAA")
 Key 4:
Sets the discharge current (from 500-100 mA). It starts at a
500 mA, and with each press the discharge current is lowered
with 100mA. Once you have found the right setting, you confirm
your choice by pressing key 1.
NOTE:
When using the recycle function you must set both the charge and
discharge current before confirming your choice.
